Join now >Raymond Calais will miss four-to-six months after foot surgery.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says that Calais was going to make the Rams roster before this injury. This is obviously a tough break for him, and he’ll likely spend the season on Los Angeles’ injured reserve, with an outside shot to return very late in the year. We wish Calais a speedy recovery.

A.J. McCarron (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of tonight.
McCarron limped to the locker room, and it’s obviously not a great sign that he’s being ruled out of a preseason game. The veteran quarterback is set to back up Matt Ryan this season, and hopefully this isn’t a long-term thing.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is dealing with an ankle sprain.
This explains why Edwards-Helaire played just half of the first drive during last night’s preseason game against the Cardinals. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid says that the ankle is “tender” but it doesn’t appear to be a high-ankle sprain. Remember, CEH dealt with a high-ankle sprain as a rookie last season. He’ll undergo more testing to determine the severity of this injury.

N’Keal Harry expected to be fine for Week 1.
Evan Lazar of CLNS Media Network reports that Harry might miss some practice time but should be ready for the start of the season. It’s good to hear that Harry avoided a serious injury like a break or long-term structural damage to his shoulder on his diving catch attempt on a deep ball last night. Nelson Agholor, Jakobi Meyers, and Kendrick Bourne appear locked in as New England’s top three receivers entering the season, but the former first-round pick Harry will look to have a nice role as a big threat on the perimeter for the Patriots.

Larry Fitzgerald says he doesn’t have the “urge” to play right now.
Fitz told this to Jim Gray on SiriusXM NFL Radio. It doesn’t sound like Fitz is rushing his decision, which isn’t a surprise, as he says he doesn’t know how he’ll feel in September, October, and November. This is just a reminder that the legendary receiver hasn’t made a decision on his football future yet, with the season just a few weeks away. If and when Fitz does return to the Cardinals, it’d almost certainly be a much bigger real-life boost than something with fantasy football implications.

Jason Croom is feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
This was unfortunately the expectation when Croom was carted off last night, and his season is almost certainly finished. The Eagles have suddenly had injuries hit the tight ends over the past week, but they’ll hope for Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert to stay healthy as key targets on offense.

Jordan Love (shoulder) is unlikely to play on Saturday.
Love has no structural damage after going down in the preseason opener, but it makes sense for Green Bay to pull back on last year’s first-round pick if he’s not at full strength. Hopefully we can see Love in the preseason finale with Aaron Rodgers—assuming he remains healthy—set to keep him on the bench for another season when the calendar turns to September.
