Join now >Kirk Cousins has officially signed with the Vikings.
It was reported Tuesday that Cousins planned to sign with Minnesota, but nothing could become official until the start of the new league year. After arriving at Minnesota yesterday and getting to know the organization he’ll be playing for, Cousins signed a three-year, $84 million fully guaranteed contract that is the largest in NFL history on a per-year basis. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said they’ll all probably be fired if they make the wrong decision on a quarterback, so they are going with the man that hasn’t missed a start for the Redskins since he became the team’s starter in 2015. Cousins was the fifth highest-scoring fantasy quarterback in 2016, and he was sixth last year despite a shaky supporting cast. He will be among the safest QB1 options in 2018 fantasy drafts, and he’ll offer very good upside in a stacked offense that includes Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs, Kyle Rudolph, Dalvin Cook, and Latavius Murray.

Marqise Lee gets eight targets in playoff loss.
Lee received a team-high eight targets in the AFC Championship loss to New England, catching four passes for 41 yards. Lee is scheduled to become a free agent this offseason, but he’s been a productive player for the Jags over the past two seasons in particular. Jacksonville does have a deep receiving group, though, and Allen Robinson is also scheduled to become a free agent, so Lee’s status is very much in the air. He might opt to go elsewhere if he hits the open market.

Tyler Eifert is re-singing with the Bengals on a one-year deal, according to Adam Schfeter.
Eifert might not have been getting great offers given his injury history, so he’s back with Cincinnati and will have a chance to prove he can stay healthy and put together a great season before hitting free agency again next year. As always, Eifert will have some very good touchdown upside, but there will be concerns about him staying on the field. He’ll be an upside pick toward the end of 2018 fantasy drafts.

Leonard Fournette handles 26 touches in AFC Championship loss.
Fournette rushes 24 times for 76 yards and one touchdown in the 24-20 defeat. He also caught two passes for 13 yards. Fournette ran hard, including a four-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, but New England consistently got key stops in the second half to advance to Super Bowl LII. Jacksonville’s offense will be centered around Fournette in 2018, and he should be a first- or second-round pick in all fantasy drafts as a solid RB1.

Doug Martin is signing with the Raiders on a one-year deal, according to Ian Rapoport.
Raiders head coach Jon Gruden was said to be intrigued by potentially adding Martin, and it’s not surprising to see a deal come together. While Marshawn Lynch is currently on the roster for Oakland, this could be the end for him. If not, look for Martin to still get a good amount of work mixing in with Lynch next season. Martin’s fantasy value will be determined by Lynch’s fate, but the former All-Pro with Tampa Bay would have RB1 potential if Lynch is cut by the Raiders—and if they don’t add anyone else in free agency or the draft.

Allen Hurns leads Jaguars in receiving in AFC Championship loss.
Hurns was a great target for Blake Bortles throughout the afternoon, catching six of seven targets for 80 yards versus the Patriots. Jacksonville can get out of Hurns’ deal this offseason if they want, but he’s likely to be back with them as a key member of a balanced receiving group. He’ll likely go toward the end of 2018 fantasy drafts.

Carlos Hyde officially signs his deal with the Browns.
Hyde is returning close to where he went to college and starred at Ohio State, and he’s only 27 (28 in September), so while he played very well on a subpar 49ers team over the last two seasons, the best could come in Cleveland with the Browns. Hyde is looking for his first 1,000-yard rushing season (he hit over 930 yards each of the past two seasons), and he’ll be a pretty good bet to get it next season if the Browns do not add another free agent or draft a running back high in this year’s draft.
