Amendola has clearly had a bigger role since the start of the postseason, as the Patriots appeared to keep him fresh for the postseason and are now utilizing him similarly to how they utilized Julian Edelman on their previous two Super Bowl runs. However, this isn’t the first time Amendola has come up clutch in a huge game. In the AFC Championship win over Jacksonville, Amendola had seven receptions for 84 yards and two touchdowns, and he also had a three-yard carry and completed a 20-yard pass on a trick play to Dion Lewis (which Lewis eventually fumbled). Both touchdowns were in the fourth quarter, with the first coming on a crossing route and the second coming with 2:48 to go. The second score was the game-winner, and it was on a spectacular toe-tapping catch in the back of the end zone. Amendola also had a clutch catch on a third-and-18 in the fourth quarter that kept the first touchdown drive going. Look for him to have a key role in Super Bowl LII against Minnesota or Philadelphia.

Taylor Gabriel has officially signed with the Bears.
Gabriel will have a decent shot at getting a number-two or number-three receiver role behind Allen Robinson for Chicago. At the very least, he should be a situational deep threat, which could lead to some big plays from accurate deep-ball thrower Mitchell Trubisky. However, Gabriel would probably do well to have FLEX value fantasy wise, and there might be better late-round options in 2018 fantasy drafts.

Tom Brady leads comeback in AFC Championship against the Jaguars; advances to eighth Super Bowl.
The Patriots scored ten points in the first three quarters and lost All-Pro Rob Gronkowski at the end of the first half because of a concussion, but Brady had another amazing fourth quarter in the playoffs, leading his team to 14 points while delivering pinpoint passes like no other. Both touchdowns were to Danny Amendola, with the game-winner coming on a perfect throw to the back of the end zone where Amendola made an outstanding toe-tapping catch with 2:48 to go. This was Brady’s eighth fourth-quarter comeback in the postseason, which is mind-boggling (and an NFL record). He is simply ice-cold with the game on the line, performing unlike anyone we’ve ever seen in the clutch; aside from his two touchdowns to Amendola in the fourth, his perfect throw to Amendola on third-and-18 in the fourth to keep a drive going was one of the throws of the game. Overall, Brady was 26/38 for 290 yards and two touchdowns in the win, and we’ll see him in Super Bowl LII in a couple of weeks as he. looks to claim his sixth Lombardi Trophy.

Trey Burton has officially signed with the Bears.
After doing an excellent job on special teams and eventually carving out a role on offense with the Eagles, Burton is cashing in as a free agent with the Bears. Adam Shaheen, a second-round pick of Chicago last year, is also in the mix, but Burton is likely to have a sizable role on offense for the Bears. Consider him a potential backend TE1 option for now, with the potential for more or less depending on his role.

Rob Gronkowski (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of the AFC Championship.
When Gronkowski went into the locker room to be evaluated, the status was out of his hands. He’s now in concussion protocol and will have to hope for his team to get past the Jaguars so he can get cleared and play in Super Bowl LII. The Patriots are down by seven points to start the fourth quarter, with Jacksonville in field goal range with a chance to potentially go up two possessions. Before leaving, Gronkowski had one receptions for 21 yards, with the catch coming on a pass down the seam between four defenders.

The Texans re-signed Bruce Ellington.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says it’s a one-year deal for Ellington. A hamstring injury cut Ellington’s season short, but he played very well in 11 games (six starts) with Houston in 2017, catching 29 passes for 330 yards and two touchdowns while making some big plays down the field and showing he can be a reliable target from the slot. He might not deliver reliable fantasy value in 2018, but he should contribute to the Texans in real life.

Adam Thielen (lower back) is officially active for the NFC Championship.
There was not any doubt Thielen would be ready to go against the Eagles, but he is reportedly not really 100%. However, we expect him to look close to his usual self once he gets going in the game. The All-Pro receiver should be heavily-targeted versus Philadelphia’s corners, and he should make some plays with a Super Bowl berth on the line.
