Join now >Elijah Moore (quad) will not practice this week.
The hope is that Moore will practice next week, but it’s time to be a little concerned about the injury issue. The second-round rookie receiver has reportedly been lightning it up during training camp, and it’d be nice to see him on the field for the Jets’ third and final preseason game next week. Keep in mind that Jets head coach Robert Saleh says he is not concerned about Moore’s Week 1 status, so that’s good to hear.

The Texans are releasing Isaiah Coulter, according to Aaron Wilson.
Houston added a bunch of players on offense this offseason, and it probably became a numbers game for Coulter. At least the second-year receiver is being cut early enough to land with another squad this preseason. Coulter probably won’t stay available for long.

Jordan Love (shoulder) will miss some practice time.
While Love’s MRI came back clean after he left Saturday night’s preseason game, he won’t be practicing today. This preseason action can really help with Love’s development, so hopefully the team is just taking things slow and he can play in each of the final two games this month.

Trace McSorley (back) will be out a few weeks.
This means McSorley won’t see any more action this preseason. However, McSorley should certainly have a firm spot on the Ravens roster and will hopefully get healthy and return to the field soon.

Kerryon Johnson (knee) is week-to-week.
Johnson’s knee issues throughout his career have been very unfortunate, and this obviously impacts his chances of winning a sizable role in the Eagles offense early this season. This might help veteran Jordan Howard, who had a solid first preseason game including an excellent rep in pass protection, secure a roster spot heading into the season.

Clayton Thorson is in the concussion protocol.
This explains the Giants’ recent signing of quarterback Brian Lewerke. Hopefully Thorson is feeling better and back to 100% soon.

The Giants are signing Brian Lewerke.
This late in the summer, Lewerke will likely have a tough time cracking the 53-man roster for the Giants; but he would do well to stick with the team on the practice squad. The former Michigan State quarterback is an intriguing pro-style option that will look to develop with the Giants.
