Join now >Jonathan Stewart is signing with the Giants, according to Adam Schefter.
Former Panthers offensive coordinator Mike Shula is now Pat Shurmur’s offensive coordinator with the Giants, so the familiarity is there. While we like 2017 fourth-round pick Wayne Gallman and his ability as a runner, it’s possible Stewart becomes the starter and leader in the backfield for the Giants in 2018. The Giants backfield will be one to watch throughout the offseason and preseason.

The Packers are trading for quarterback DeShone Kizer, according to Ian Rapoport.
Cleveland is wheeling and dealing right now, as Kizer is apparently headed back to Green Bay in the trade of cornerback Demarious Randall. Kizer was a second-round selection from Notre Dame last year, and he frankly probably wasn’t ready to step right in as a Week 1 starter (his college coach Brian Kelly basically said he should have stayed in school), but that didn’t stop Hue Jackson from putting the young quarterback in that position. Now, Kizer will compete with Brett Hundley for the backup job behind Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay, and it’s a good spot for him to develop his skill set, as Mike McCarthy is one of the best coaches of quarterbacks in the league.

Jerick McKinnon scores in playoff win.
McKinnon rushed eight times for 34 yards and touchdown, which came from 14 yards out in the first quarter. He also caught three passes for six yards. McKinnon will probably used more as a receiver in the NFC Championship against Philadelphia next Sunday to offset the aggressive defense of the Eagles. Hopefully that game is as good as Minnesota’s win over New Orleans.

Leonard Fournette’s injury is being called an ankle injury.
The Jaguars are officially calling their rookie running back questionable to return to today’s Divisional Round matchup with Pittsburgh. Fournette has dealt with ankle and foot issues all season, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he was unable to return to the game. For now, T.J. Yeldon will handle most of the load in Jacksonville’s backfield, with Corey Grant mixing in. We’ll update you as more information becomes available on Fournette.

The Cardinals officially released Adrian Peterson.
This was fully expected as of yesterday, and the team just made the announcement. It comes on the same day Arizona is planning to sign Peterson’s former backfield mate at Oklahoma, quarterback Sam Bradford. There’s a possibility the Cardinals bring Peterson back on a cheaper contract, but other teams should be interested in the future Hall of Fame running back if not.

The Browns are acquiring Tyrod Taylor from the Bills, according to multiple reports.
Perhaps the craziest offseason in NFL history continues, as Cleveland is reportedly dealing the 65th overall pick of this year’s draft in exchange for Taylor. While Taylor has shown progression as a quarterback and helped lead Buffalo to the postseason last year, the return for the Bills is still a bit surprising considering it’s a premium pick atop the third round of the draft. For the Bills, they might have wanted the pick for ammunition to move up for a quarterback in the draft next month. The Browns are still a good bet to get a quarterback at some point early in the draft, but Taylor is the heavy favorite to be under center as the team’s starter in Week 1. With a receiving corps that includes Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry, Corey Coleman, and David Njoku—along with one of the league’s strongest offensive lines—Taylor’s fantasy stock gets a bump with this deal. The trade will become official at the start of the new league year on March 14.

Mark Ingram gets 11 touches in playoff loss to the Vikings.
Ingram couldn’t get much going against the league’s top defense, carrying ten times for 25 rushing yards while adding one reception for three receiving yards. The veteran running back will still be under contract with the Saints next season, and we expect they’ll want to keep him on the roster despite the presence of Alvin Kamara. Ingram averaged 4.9 yards per carry this season and is a very good running back that will be a fine early-mid round fantasy option in 2018 fantasy drafts.
