Cameron Brate | Free Agent TE

The Buccaneers have signed Cameron Brate to a six-year contract, according to Tom Pelissero.

Brate was a restricted free agent, but the Bucs went ahead and re-signed him to a long-term deal worth $41 million with $18 million guaranteed, according to Pelissero. While Brate is a reliable target that has become an important weapon for Jameis Winston in the red zone (14 touchdowns over the last two seasons), it’s a slight surprise to see the Buccaneers give him a big extension after drafting O.J. Howard in the first round last year. Howard also has a ton of potential, and Tampa Bay might go to more two-tight end sets this year to utilize both their weapons. It might be tough for either Brate or Howard to be more than a backend TE1 fantasy option if they are both on the field, though.

DeMarco Murray | Retired RB

The Titans are releasing running back DeMarco Murray.

The team just made the announcement that they are parting ways with the veteran Pro Bowl running back, clearing the way for Derrick Henry to take over the backfield as the clear-cut leader in his third NFL season. Murray had a very good two seasons for the Titans and provided leadership for a team that made it to the playoffs last season, and he ran for 1,287 yards and nine touchdowns in his first season with them in 2016 before dealing with injuries in 2017. Murray just turned 30 last month and had over 1,600 career carries, but there should be numerous teams interested in adding him to their backfield. The Browns and Patriots could be a couple teams to watch for Murray’s services.

Mack Hollins | Patriots WR

Mack Hollins catches one pass in playoff victory.

Hollins gained nine yards on his lone reception and also drew a pass interference call on a comeback route. The rookie receiver will continue to contribute on special teams and chip in on offense in the NFC Championship game next weekend.

Tommy Bohanon | Free Agent FB

Tommy Bohanan scores in Jaguars’ playoff win.

Bohanan was wide open in the end zone on a play-action, as he ran right up the middle through the defense. The score was for 14 yards and was his lone reception of the game, and the play has worked in two consecutive weeks for big gains. You can bet the Patriots will be prepared for it in the AFC Championship Game.

Le'Veon Bell | Free Agent RB

Le’Veon Bell scores twice in Steelers’ playoff loss.

The Jaguars didn’t want to allow Bell to beat them on the ground, but he still had a solid game running the football and did his usual damage as a receiver. Bell had 16 carries for 67 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown along with nine receptions for 88 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. The receiving score was on a wheel route where Bell made a great catch in tight coverage. And the rushing score was on a lateral by Ben Roethlisberger after he crossed the line of scrimmage. Now things will get really interesting this offseason, as Bell has indicated he isn’t going to play on the franchise tag again, while the Steelers are reportedly set to franchise him again if the two sides can’t agree on a long-term deal. Whatever happens, Bell will be high first-round selection in all fantasy drafts this summer (unless of course he really does sit out in the event of a franchise tag for the second straight year).

Corey Davis | Free Agent WR

Corey Davis scores twice in playoff loss to the Patriots.

The rookie receiver battled injuries this season, and these were the first two touchdowns of his NFL career. Davis’ first touchdown was the first score of the game, and it came on a beautiful one-handed catch on a 15-yard go route. The second score was on a play late in the game with his team down by 28 points. Overall, Davis had five reception (on eight targets) for 63 yards and two touchdowns. Injuries derailed Davis’ season a bit, but the fifth overall pick in last year’s draft has a lot of upside and will look to have a breakout second season in a passing offense that should be much improved in 2018.

Zach Ertz | Commanders TE

Zach Ertz catches three passes in Eagles’ playoff win.

Ertz was targeted five times against the Falcons, gaining 32 yards on his three receptions. He had a clutch first-down conversion in the second half, as a Falcons defender slipped, allowing Ertz to get wide open. The tight end will be a key part of the gameplan next week as the Eagles look to get to the Super Bowl.
