Join now >Devin Funchess plays well in playoff loss to New Orleans.
Funchess had to contend with Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate Marshon Lattimore, who shadowed Funchess, for the Wild Card matchup, but he had a very good game and was able to get free on a few occasions against the rookie corner. Funchess caught four of eight passes for 79 yards in the loss, but it did look like he had an opportunity to catch a go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter and simply might have mis-judged the ball in the end zone and couldn’t come up with it. After the trade of Kelvin Benjamin to Buffalo at the deadline, Funchess stepped up as a true number one receiver for Cam Newton. If the receiving corps for Carolina remains relatively unchanged in 2018, Funchess would be a WR1/WR2 option in fantasy drafts. As Troy Aikman noted during today’s game broadcast, Funchess is dealing with a serious shoulder issue—so he might need to get that fixed up this offseason.

Corey Davis gets seven targets in Wild Card win.
The rookie receiver didn’t have a huge game in the playoff victory over Kansas City, but he did show some of the flashes that made the Titans want to take him with the fifth-overall pick in the draft last year. Davis had four receptions for 35 yards in the win, and the rookie will look to be a reliable target next weekend for Marcus Mariota and the Titans.

Ted Ginn scores 80-yard touchdown in win over the Panthers.
Ginn’s score came in the first quarter against his former team, and he finished with four receptions for 115 yards. On the touchdown, Drew Brees was able to hit the speedster in stride down the middle of the defense to give New Orleans an early 7-0 lead. Ginn will probably need to make some more plays next week in Minnesota with Xaiver Rhodes likely shadowing Michael Thomas.

Delanie Walker leads the Titans in receiving in playoff win.
Walker was a reliable target for Marcus Mariota over the middle against the Chiefs, catching six of eight targets for 74 yards. He was also open on a corner route that could have been a touchdown, but it was poor route distribution and was intercepted by Kansas City. The veteran tight end will be a high-floor fantasy option in the Divisional Round against the Patriots or Steelers.

Greg Olsen scores in Panthers’ Wild Card loss.
Olsen was targeted a team-high 12 times against the Saints, who he wasn’t available for in their regular season matchups, catching eight passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. The score was on a perfect throw on a seam route that Olsen easily got open on with a free release at the line of scrimmage. Olsen obviously didn’t come close to matching fantasy expectations coming into the season simply because he wasn’t on the field for much of the year after breaking his foot in Week 2 then dealing with some issues after returning. For 2018, Olsen will be one of the best bounce-back candidates and should be among the top tight ends selected in fantasy drafts.

Derrick Henry runs wild in Titans’ playoff win.
With DeMarco Murray (knee) out again for the Titans, Henry carried the load versus Kansas City, carrying 23 times for 156 rushing yards and a touchdown while adding two receptions for 35 receiving yards. Henry’s touchdown was a 35-yarder where he showed his amazing speed for such a big back, and he later iced the game with a third-down conversion on a run a couple plays after he had a fumble that was overturned after the replay showed he was clearly down by contact. Murray might work his way into playing next weekend, but for now expect Henry to be the lead guy in the backfield again against Pittsburgh or New England.

Michael Thomas has big day in playoff win over Carolina.
Thomas caught eight passes for 131 yards in the 31-26 victory. The second-year receiver was a difficult cover all game, but things will get a lot tougher next Sunday against the Vikings. Expect Thomas to see a bunch of All-Pro cornerback Xaiver Rhodes as they look to advance to the NFC Championship. In the season opener, Thomas was contained by Minnesota in a MNF loss for New Orleans.
