Branden Oliver | Free Agent RB

Branden Oliver gets eight touches in Week 17.

Oliver gained 13 rushing yards on seven attempts and added a six-yard reception. Philip Rivers and the Chargers have been high on Oliver, who was coming off a torn Achilles from 2016. He should be better further removed from the injury.

Cameron Artis-Payne | Free Agent RB

Cameron Artis-Payne handles five touches in Week 17 loss.

With Jonathan Stewart inactive, Artis-Payne rushed five times for 16 yards. CAP had just 18 attempts this season, but he turned them into an impressive 95 yards and a score. He probably won’t be much of a factor in the postseason behind Stewart and Christian McCaffrey.

Jay Cutler | Free Agent QB

Jay Cutler throws just two passes in Week 17 loss.

Cutler got the start, but Miami wanted to give David Fales a look, so the veteran was just 1/2 for six yards. It’s known that Cutler won’t settle for a backup job in 2018, so this could be the last we see of him in an NFL uniform. That said, he is one of the 32 best quarterbacks on the planet, so perhaps he will get another shot. Cutler completed 62% of his passes for 2,666 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in his first season with the Dolphins. We will likely see him in a different uniform or the broadcast booth next fall.

Michael Clark | Packers WR

Michael Clark catches one pass in Week 17.

The big receiver gained five yards on his lone reception. He’s an intriguing player to keep an eye on, particularly in dynasty leagues, but he doesn’t have 2018 fantasy value as of now.

12/31/17 - 10:56 PM ET

Tevin Coleman | Free Agent RB

Tevin Coleman handles 13 touches in Week 17 win.

Coleman rushed 11 times for 23 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards. The dynamic third-year back was even on the ground with Devonta Freeman in terms of carries and yards, but Freeman did more damage as a receiver. Coleman finishes the regular season with 156 rushing attempts for 628 yards (4.0 yards per carry) and five touchdowns, also adding 27 receptions for 299 yards and three more scores. Atlanta needs to get him the ball in space more if they want to make a postseason run like they did last January, and that will start on Saturday night against the Rams.

1/1/18 - 12:13 AM ET

Cam Newton | Free Agent QB

Cam Newton, Panthers offense struggles in 22-10 loss to the Falcons.

Newton was 14/34 for 180 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. He also rushed 11 times for 59 yards. Carolina was already locked into a playoff spot, but they couldn’t capitalize on a chance to win the NFC South after New Orleans was upset by Tampa Bay. Instead, they will be forced to hit the road to face the Saints next Sunday at 4:40 in the Wild Card Playoffs, and they’ve already lost twice to them this season. As for the regular season, Cam completed 59.1% of his passes for 3,302 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions this season. He also rushed 139 times for a career-high 754 yards and six touchdowns on the ground on his way to an overall QB2 finish. The former NFL MVP will need to make plays on the ground to beat Drew Brees and New Orleans to advance past next weekend.

12/31/17 - 11:42 PM ET

Peyton Barber | Free Agent RB

Peyton Barber runs hard in Week 17 win.

Barber rushed 17 times for 71 yards and a touchdown in the season finale, an upset win over the Saints. He also caught two passes for 18 yards. Active for all 16 games with four starts, Barber rushed 108 times for 423 yards (3.9 yards per carry) and three touchdowns this season. He probably isn’t going to start in 2018, but the 23-year-old runs hard and should have the inside track at a backup role in next summer.
