Join now >The Bills officially exercised the fifth-year option for Josh Allen.
Obviously, this was an incredibly easy decision for the Bills, who now have Allen locked up through the 2022 season. The two sides should come to a long-term contract agreement at some point, but both Allen and Buffalo might be content with remaining patient. For Allen, his price could continue to skyrocket if he keeps playing like he did last season and his team makes more deep playoff runs.

The Seahawks are declining the fifth-year option for Rashaad Penny.
Coming off a knee injury from 2019, Penny played in just three games last season and has been unable to stay on the field and make a consistent impact for the Seahawks. Still, while Seattle is declining the fifth-year option on the former first-round pick, Penny is expected to be a key part of the backfield along with starter Chris Carson this season. Penny is now entering a contract year and can set himself up nicely ahead of free agency with a strong 2021 season.

The Falcons exercised Calvin Ridley’s fifth-year option.
Coming off a 90/1,374/9 campaign and emerging as one of the best receivers in the league, this was obviously fully expected. The move keeps Ridley under contract through the 2022 season, but expect the Falcons to try to lock up the 2018 first-round pick to a long-term extension within the next couple of years.

The Falcons are not exercising the fifth-year option for Hayden Hurst.
This means Hurst is now entering a contract year. While the duo of Kyle Pitts and Hurst could be exceptional for Arthur Smith’s offense, it’s not surprising that Atlanta is not picking up the option on the tight end after just drafting Pitts fourth overall in last week’s draft. Hurst might still sign with the Falcons long-term, but he’ll almost certainly be playing out the final year of his deal; if all goes well, the former first-round pick might prefer to remain with the Falcons to form a top tight end duo for the next few years.

The Broncos have selected Auburn wide receiver Seth Williams with the No. 219 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Williams didn’t have the consistency you would have liked at Auburn, but the talent is undeniable, and it wouldn’t be at all surprising if he ended up turning into one of the best wideouts from this year’s class despite dropping toward the end of the sixth round. A big and physical target with impressive downfield speed, Williams—after averaging 16.1 yards per reception in three seasons under Gus Malzahn—should have a similar role for the Broncos as a vertical weapon. Right now, we like his real-life outlook better than his fantasy outlook, but Williams could have some “boom” games as a rookie. With Courtland Sutton coming off an ACL tear and entering a contract year, Williams could be an interesting replacement if Denver is impressed enough with him this season. The full scouting report for him can be read at the link below.

The Colts have selected Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger with the No. 218 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Ehlinger started four seasons for a Texas Longhorns team he grew up rooting for, and he had a lot of success in the Big 12, throwing for 11,436 yards and 94 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,903 yards and 33 touchdowns in his career. Ehlinger is a playmaker that can find a way to make plays if he’s thrust into action, and the Colts will look to develop his skillset as a reserve quarterback option.

The Browns have selected UCLA running back Demetric Felton with the No. 211 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
It took a while for him to come off the board, but Felton is a dynamic, versatile player that was featured in Chip Kelly’s offense last season—as he compiled 132 carries, 668 rushing yards, 22 receptions, 159 receiving yards, and eight total touchdowns in just six games. We’ll see what exact role the Browns have in mind for him, but Felton can play both running back and receiver, so hopefully he’s given a healthy role regardless of listed position (he was officially announced as a running back). The full scouting report can be viewed in the link below, but Felton is an electric weapon that should draw strong interest in full PPR leagues if he is able to carve out a role in Cleveland’s offense.
