Join now >Taylor Gabriel handles two touches in Week 13 loss.
Gabriel caught one pass for six yards and rushed once for five yards. “Turbo” just hasn’t been the same this year with Kyle Shanahan gone, and he won’t be a recommended fantasy option in the fantasy playoffs.

Greg Olsen (foot) could play this week without practicing.
Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said the team is being precautionary with Olsen, who left Sunday’s game against the Jets with some discomfort in his foot. He’s not practicing today, but the good news is Olsen is one of those players that could suit up Sunday without getting practice reps during the week. It’s a huge NFC matchup against the Saints that the Panthers could really use Olsen for, so his status will likely be up in the air throughout the weekend. Olsen would carry risk in fantasy lineups if he is active on Sunday.

Tevin Coleman handles 11 touches in Week 13 loss.
Coleman rushed eight times for 22 yards and caught three passes for 27 yards. Devonta Freeman led the backfield with 81 yards on 13 touches, so it looks like any hope of Coleman taking over lead-back status after his impressive stint as the starter is gone. That said, he remains a high-upside RB2 for the fantasy playoffs, including on Thursday night against the Saints in a huge matchup.

Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) will play this week against the Saints.
McCaffrey told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that he’ll be “ready to roll” on Sunday, while adding that not practicing yesterday was a “maintenance day.” He might be a little banged up, but the tough rookie running back isn’t going to miss any time—especially with this huge NFC South matchup coming up. You can safely insert McCaffrey into your lineup as a solid RB1/RB2 option against New Orleans.

Cameron Brate scores twice in Jameis Winston’s return.
Brate only had two receptions against the Packers in the Week 13 loss, but they both went for touchdowns. The two scores were for 11 and 28 yards, so he had two receptions for 39 yards and two touchdowns overall. While Brate wasn’t doing much without Winston in the lineup for the last few games, Winston simply knows how to find him for scoring opportunities. Brate is a TE1 option against Detroit next week.

Coby Fleener (concussion) won’t play this week, according to Ian Rapoport.
Fleener took a big hit to the head from Rams cornerback Blake Countess in Sunday’s loss, and Rapoport says this could be a multi-week absence. Fleener wasn’t on the fantasy radar, so there’s not much of an impact there. But real life is the most important situation right now anyway, and we hope Fleener is feeling better soon.

Devonta Freeman leads backfield in return.
Freeman rushed 12 times for 74 yards and caught a seven-yard pass in the 14-9 loss to Minnesota. The Vikings have an elite run defense (and pass defense), but Atlanta had more success on the ground than through the air, and Freeman and Tevin Coleman probably should have touched it more than they did. There were concerns that Coleman might have handled more touches for at least one week, but that didn’t happen, so Freeman should be a RB1 option in the fantasy playoffs. The Falcons play the Saints on Thursday night to kick things off.
