Giovani Bernard | Retired RB

Giovani Bernard gets four touches in Week 5.

Benard had two carries for two yards and two receptions for 30 yards against the Bills. He’s a bench player/bye-week fill-in for PPR leagues, but rookie Joe Mixon has the most fantasy value in the Bengals backfield.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill gets four carries against the Bills.

Hill started the game, but he was out-carried 15-4 by rookie Joe Mixon. Hill picked up 16 yards on his four carries. He doesn’t need to be on standard fantasy rosters, as this is Mixon’s backfield now.

Joe Mixon | Texans RB

Joe Mixon scores first career touchdown in Week 5 win.

Mixon carried 15 times for 51 yards against the Bills, but he wasn’t targeted in the passing game. The rookie’s first NFL touchdown came on a five-yard carry where he bounced it to the outside. Obviously, it’s great to see Mixon get red zone carries like that, and he’s clearly the lead guy in the backfield (Jeremy Hill had four carries and Gioavni Bernard had two carries). The Bengals have a bye in Week 6, but Mixon will be a solid fantasy option in Week 7 against the Steelers.

10/9/17 - 10:23 AM ET

Andy Dalton | Panthers QB

Andy Dalton cools off but Bengals defeat the Bills.

Dalton was 22/36 for 328 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against Buffalo. He started off hot, including a 77-yard touchdown early in the game to A.J. Green, but Dalton struggled against a solid Bills defense at times. Though Dalton had two interceptions, another was dropped. Still, the Bills defense has been tough on everyone this season, and the Bengals offense is a lot better since new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor took over in Week 3. Dalton has a bye before facing the Steelers in Week 6.

10/9/17 - 10:19 AM ET

Logan Thomas | 49ers TE

Logan Thomas catches one pass in Week 5.

Thomas gained three yards on his one reception. The former Virginia Tech quarterback could have a bigger role with Charles Clay suffering a potentially serious leg injury, but he’s not a standard league fantasy option.

10/9/17 - 10:12 AM ET

Andre Holmes | Free Agent WR

Andre Holmes doesn’t catch any passes in Week 5.

Holmes was targeted one time by Tyrod Taylor, but they didn’t connect. He might have some nice games with Jordan Matthews (thumb) out, but Holmes is not a recommended fantasy option at the moment.

10/9/17 - 10:11 AM ET

Zay Jones | Cardinals WR

Zay Jones catches one pass in Week 5.

Despite the rookie receiver getting six targets against the Bengals, he gained only nine yards on one reception. Jones has not topped 20 receiving yards in a game all season and he has only five receptions total. He’s still a dynasty league option, but he’s not doing enough to be a must-own in standard leagues right now.
