Join now >The Jaguars signed quarterback Ryan Nassib.
Nassib was a free agent that was drafted in the fourth round by the Giants in 2013 and was on the Saints this preseason. Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone was the head coach at Syracuse for the four seasons Nassib was there from 2009-2012, so there is obvious familiarity there. Blake Bortles struggled yesterday, and it’s not totally out of the question for Nassib to make some starts this year.

Carlos Hyde rumbles for 124 yards against the Seahawks.
The defense and running game of the 49ers kept them in the game against the Seahawks. Hyde had 15 carries for 124 yards, including a long of 61 yards, while also adding three receptions (on six targets) and 19 yards through the air. Even if you take out Hyde’s 61-yard run, he averaged 4.5 yards per carry in the game. It’s obvious Hyde, who lost weight this offseason, is a great fit in Kyle Shanahan’s offense. As long as he remains healthy, Hyde will be an RB1 all season long and a lock for 1,000 yards rushing. He gets the Rams on Thursday night.

The Browns announced that Corey Coleman broke his left hand and will have surgery today.
Coleman also broke his hand last season in the middle of September, so the 2016 first-round pick will miss significant time for the second-straight year. He was out until early November last season, so expect a similar absence. Coleman should stay stashed on an IR spot if you have room there, as he was the clear top receiver for DeShone Kizer and a legitimate breakout candidate. In the mean time, Rashard Higgins might actually be the wideout to own for the Browns, but it might be best to avoid the situation altogether.

History is made: Antonio Gates breaks Tony Gonzalez’s touchdown record for tight ends.
Gates broke the record and scored his 112th career touchdown on a seven-yard pass in the third quarter. He finished with two catches for 11 yards. Congratulations to Gates, but fantasy wise, this probably lowers his value for the rest of the season, as the talented Hunter Henry should see more playing time for the 0-2 Chargers. LA plays the Chiefs next week.

Austin Hooper held in check after Week 1 blowup.
Hooper caught two passes for seven yards in the win against the Packers. Hopefully fantasy owners weren’t playing him based on two busted coverages for big gains in the season opener, as Green Bay just held Jimmy Graham in check and Hooper is probably the sixth option on Atlanta’s offense. There will be good games, but there are more reliable fantasy tight ends to start. The Falcons play Detroit next.

Brian Hoyer and Niners struggle in Week 2 against Seattle.
The game was at Seattle, who very much shut down the passing attack of the 49ers. Hoyer was 15/27 for only 99 yards and a n interception. The San Francisco offense has not looked great through two games, but they’ll likely have an easier time through the air on Thursday night against the Rams.

Justin Hardy catches 19-yard pass in Week 2.
Hardy caught a nice in-breaking route deep in Packers’ territory from Matt Ryan. While Hardy is a solid contributor in real life to Atlanta, he can’t be trusted in fantasy lineups.
