Greg Olsen | Retired TE

Greg Olsen (foot) has not returned to the Panthers’ Week 2 game.

It’s halftime and Olsen was said to be likely to return, but he’s still not back. We’ll see if Olsen is able to get back out there in the second half. He injured the foot when just running a route down the field so it could really be anything, but hopefully it’s not that serious.

Tom Brady | Retired QB

Tom Brady says 2017 will not be his last season.

Brady spoke to Norah O’Donnell for CBS Sunday Morning, and he said,” No. no,” when asked if there is “any chance” this is his last season. Obviously, Brady has said he thinks—and wants—to play until he’s in his mid-40s, but there’s been slight speculation from people thinking the quarterback might just retire if he wins another Super Bowl this season (partly because of the presence of Jimmy Garoppolo, who’s contract expires after the season). If there was any doubt about Brady playing past 2017, there shouldn’t be. Because of his TB12 method, we believe Brady will play as long as he wants and stay atop the game for as long as he continues playing. He’s the top quarterback option this week against New Orleans and will be for many weeks, and probably years.

DeShone Kizer | Free Agent QB

DeShone Kizer has a migraine and is questionable to return.

Kevin Hogan is in at quarterback for the Browns against Baltimore. Kizer threw an interception and fumbled on a sack so far, but hopefully he’s OK and able to get back in the game.

Jacoby Brissett | Cardinals QB

The Colts are planning on starting Jacoby Brissett at QB this Sunday, according to Ian Rapoport.

This isn’t a surprise at all, as the Colts need some kind of jolt for the team to avoid an 0-2 start. It’ll be interesting to see how the 2016 third-round pick of the Patriots does in his second-career start. Arizona’s D/ST is still an elite option this week, but don’t be surprised if Brissett plays well in the start. He has a big arm, which is a boost for skill position players like T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief.

Andrew Luck | Retired QB

Andrew Luck is “behind schedule on return” from shoulder surgery, according to Jay Glazer.

Glazer was on “FOX NFL Sunday” and said the Colts quarterback’s rehab “has not gone as planned.” Luck reportedly still cannot make all the throws even though he was expected to be ready for the beginning of the season. Glazer says Luck is probably about four weeks away still, especially because he needs a couple weeks of practice to get back into things. Week 5 or 6 is the estimate Glazer gives for Luck’s return.

LeSean McCoy | Retired RB

LeSean McCoy (groin) is not practicing today.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott says his workhorse back has “some groin soreness but it’s nothing serious.” It doesn’t sound like McCoy is in danger of missing Sunday’s game against the Panthers, but he’ll likely be listed as questionable. Don’t be too alarmed, but it’s something to keep an eye on. McCoy should still be locked into a heavy workload and he’ll be an obvious RB1 this week.

Sam Bradford | Free Agent QB

Jay Glazer reports Sam Bradford’s knee issues is not a one week thing.

Glazer, who said this on “FOX NFL Sunday,” knows as much as anyone and he says Bradford is having swelling and cartilage issues because he’s had so many issues (two torn ACLs) in his left knee and that they’ll have to manage this all season. This goes against a report from NFL Network that said Bradford is only expected to miss this week. Obviously, this isn’t good for Bradford’s outlook both long-term and for the rest of this season, but the good news is there is no ACL damage to Bradford’s knee. The success of the Vikings will likely rely on Bradford’s health, so hopefully he’s able to get back on the field next week.
