Join now >Alfred Morris works as backup behind Ezekiel Elliott in Week 1.
Morris received four carries for one yard in a win over the Giants. He has taken over the number two job from Darren McFadden, so it looks like he’s the preferred handcuff for Elliott.

Ezekiel Elliott gets 29 touches in Week 1 against the Giants.
Zeke picked up right where he left last year, carrying 24 times for 104 yards and adding five receptions for 36 yards. Elliott is just really good and has a knack for picking up positive yardage after contact. He’ll be an elite RB1 in Week 2 versus the Broncos.

Dak Prescott plays very well in Cowboys’ Week 1 win over the Giants.
Prescott was 24/39 for 268 yards and one touchdown while adding three carries for 24 rushing yards. The second-year quarterback came right out of the gate and looked confident against a team he struggled mightily against as a rookie. He appears to be in total control of the offense and should have a good sophomore season. This win against the Giants was a great start. Prescott does have a difficult matchup next Sunday against Denver so there are probably better options for Week 2, though.

Greg Olsen has quiet Week 1.
Olsen caught two passes for 18 yards as the Panthers defeated the Niners 23-3. Cam Newton was knocking some rust off and was inaccurate throughout the contest, but hopefully he is better next week against Buffalo. Christian McCaffrey should open things up for the entire offense, including Olsen. He’s a upper/mid-range TE1.

Devin Funchess caught two passes for 20 yards in Sunday’s season opener.
Funchess and the rest of the pass-catching options struggled due to Cam Newton’s inaccuracy, but he should be better next week against Buffalo. Funchess will be a low-end FLEX option in standard leagues for that one.

Kelvin Benjamin held to one catch in season opener.
It went for 25 yards. Benjamin was harmed by an inconsistent Cam Newton, but he struggled to gain separation for much of the day. He should be better next week against the Bills’ smaller cornerbacks, though rookie Tre’Davious White might be able to stick with him. Benjamin will be a low-end WR2/FLEX.

Russell Shepard catches 40-yard touchdown in win over the 49ers.
Shepard also had another 13-yard catch, but the highlight was obviously the score, as he found himself wide open on a cross, made a defender miss with a nice spin move, and sprinted to the end zone. The 26-year-old always seems to make some plays, but he’s not a fantasy option in Week 2 against Buffalo.
