Join now >Mike Gillislee cashes in at the goal line in Week 1.
It was unclear how the running back situation would work out in New England heading into the opening game against Kansas City, but Gillislee received every goal line opportunity and scored three times in the game. Overall, Gillislee had 15 carries for 45 yards, which led the team in rushing. Rex Burkhead started the game, but he only received three carries and one reception. Things can certainly vary week-by-week, but it looks like Gillislee will get almost all the goal line touches and the most carries for the Patriots in 2017. He should be in your lineup each week until someone gets more playing time and/or goal line carries for New England.

Robert Woods caught three passes for 53 yards in his Rams debut.
Woods didn’t have much of a chance for a big game due to the score being 27-3 at halftime, but it was a good game for the entire LA offense. The 25-year-old receiver is behind both Sammy Watkins and Cooper Kupp for target, but he might have fantasy value if Jared Goff takes the step we expect him to.

Robby Anderson gets eight Week 1 targets in Jets loss.
The second-year deep threat from Temple caught four of his targets for 22 yards. He gets the Raiders next week but isn’t a reliable fantasy option, despite his upside.
9/11/17 - 10:06 AM ET
Carlos Hyde gets 15 touches in Week 1.
The 49ers were playing from behind the Panthers, so Hyde only had nine carries, but he gained 45 yards on those carries. Hyde also added six receptions (on six targets) for 32 yards, showing his receiving ability. Ideally, the 49ers would run the ball more, but it’s good to see Hyde involved in the passing game like this—a boost for his PPR value. If he stays healthy, Hyde should be an RB1 in both standard and PPR leagues in Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

Tom Brady and the Patriots get upset by the Chiefs in the opening game of the 2017 NFL season.
New England came into the game as the heavy favorites, and the game looked like it might be a blowout after the opening drive when the Pats went right down the field for a touchdown. Brady operated a no-huddle offense early in the game and the Patriots had a lot of success moving the ball, but they didn’t seem to go as fast after the beginning of the game. Brady was 16/36 for 267 yards and was at a disadvantage when Danny Amendola left the game in the third quarter with a head injury, but this was a surprising stat line—even against Kansas City’s defense. The Patriots will get back on track and Brady should dominate in a good matchup and potential shootout in Week 2 against the Saints.
9/8/17 - 12:42 AM ET
Sammy Watkins caught five passes for 58 yards in his first game as a Ram.
The good news is that he was efficient and Sean McVay gave him chances to make plays underneath, but the bad news is that Los Angeles destroyed the Colts, so Watkins didn’t have a chance to take full advantage of a weak secondary. Still, Jared Goff looked really good and Cooper Kupp’s success should open things up for the dynamic receiver. Watkins gets the Redskins next, and he torched them for five catches, 111 yards, and two touchdowns in his lone game against them with Buffalo. Sammy is a high-upside WR2 for next Sunday.
9/11/17 - 02:19 PM ET
ArDarius Stewart catches two passes in first games.
The Jets rookie receiver from Alabama had two receptions for ten yards versus the Bills. He drew five targets, which is a good sign, but Stewart isn’t a great fantasy option yet.
