Join now >Malcolm Mitchell is listed as questionable for Week 1.
The Pats kickoff the season tomorrow night against the Chiefs, and Mitchell, who has battled knee issues for a while now, is listed as questionable for the game. New England might limit his reps, but it’s likely he’ll be out there to open the season. Mitchell has some boom potential on a weekly basis playing with Tom Brady, but it’ll be nice to see what his role is after the addition of Brandin Cooks this offseason.

Chris Ivory gets ten touches in Week 1.
Ivory had nine carries for 42 yards and an 11-yard reception versus the Texans. It was a good day for Ivory, but Leonard Fournette received 29 touches and did well with them. The Jaguars do appear to be committed to running the ball a lot this season, so Ivory will get his touches too. But he won’t be a reliable fantasy option as long as Fournette is the lead guy in the backfield.

LeGarrette Blount catches touchdown in Week 1 win against the Redskins.
The big back worked as the Eagles’ clear lead runner in the game, carrying 14 times for 46 yards while adding a one-yard touchdown reception on a pass in the flat. Wendell Smallwood, who was thought to potentially be the lead back in Philadelphia, only had four carries for four yards in the game. Based off this game, it appears Blount should get a good amount of carries this season, though we’ll have to see what happens in games the Eagles are behind on the scoreboard. Blount is a FLEX option in standard leagues next week versus the Chiefs.

Jaguars feed Leonard Fournette in his first game.
The fourth overall pick in the draft handled 29 touches for the Jaguars in their blowout Week 1 win over the Texans. He had 26 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown, along with three receptions for 24 yards. The TD came from the goal line and he punched it in, which is a great sign with Chris Ivory also in the backfield. It’s clear Fournette is going to be handed the ball a ton this season, and he’s a clear RB1 every week.

Jeremy Maclin doesn’t think chemistry with Joe Flacco will be “that big of an issue.”
Flacco missed the entire preseason with a back injury, but Maclin does not sound at all concerned about being on the same page as his quarterback. The veteran receiver says Flacco has been putting the ball right on the money in the couple practices they’ve had together. Ideally, they would’ve gotten some work together in the preseason, but Maclin and Flacco could still get on the same page very quickly. Maclin is a fine FLEX option to open the season despite the difficult matchup against the Bengals, who ranked second against receivers in fantasy points allowed last year.

Tom Savage is benched in Week 1 loss to the Jaguars.
Savage was 7/13 for 62 yards, losing two fumbles before being replaced by rookie Deshaun Watson. Although Watson had his struggles, it would be surprising if the Texans didn’t stick with him as the starter, even on a short week against the Bengals this Thursday night. Houston needs to give whoever is playing quarterback better protection up front.

Carson Wentz throws for 300 yards in Eagles’ Week 1 win over the Redskins.
The second-year quarterback played well in the season opener, going 26/39 for 307 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The Eagles came right out and took big shots down the field while continuing to throw downfield throughout the game, but they struggled to connect on them. Wentz showed his athleticism, particularly on the longest play of the game when Wentz scrambled around in the backfield before connecting with a wide open Nelson Agholor for a 58-yard touchdown. The second TD for Wentz came on a one-yard pass in the flat to LeGarrette Blount, while the interception came on a tipped pass that went right to Ryan Kerrigan, who returned it for a touchdown. Wentz could’ve had an even bigger day if they could’ve connected on a couple more deep balls, but fantasy owners will take it. The Eagles have a difficult matchup against the Chiefs next Sunday.
