Join now >John Ross (knee) is expected to miss the first two weeks of the season, according to Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport said he will “potentially” be back in Week 3, as the Bengals have a Thursday Night game in Week 2, so hopefully the speedy rookie can recover in time for the final week of September. Cincinnati will have Tyler Boyd and Brandon LaFell behind A.J. Green for the time being, and Ross is a decent upside add if you can stash him on IR.

Seth DeValve caught four passes for 42 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers.
DeValve got the start and was second on the team in catches and yards behind wideout Corey Coleman. The 24-year-old isn’t a recommended fantasy option next week against Baltimore.

Jay Glazer: Jonathan Stewart to be “featured back” in Carolina.
Glazer is typically spot on with his news, so expect Stewart to get over 15 touches per game this season as the main guy in Carolina. However, Glazer also said that the Panthers do plan to get rookie Christian McCaffrey heavily involved. The Panthers get the 49ers today and both backs should be usable fantasy options to open the year.

Ravens shut down Joe Mixon in Week 1.
The talented rookie running back couldn’t get anything going in his first game, carrying eight times for nine yards and adding three receptions for 15 yards. Baltimore pretty much overwhelmed Cincinnati, so there wasn’t much Mixon could do about the performance. In a three-way split backfield with Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill, Mixon is only a FLEX option for now—but he could have a huge breakout game at any time. He plays Houston this Thursday night.
9/11/17 - 12:02 PM ET
Joe Mixon is listed as the third running back on the Bengals’ updated depth chart.
It would obviously be better if he was listed as the starter, but this shouldn’t be that big of a deal; Mixon is going to play and play a lot after Cincinnati took him in the second round of the draft. Jeremy Hill is listed as the starter and Giovani Bernard is listed second, but Mixon’s talent surpasses them both, and he should—at worst—handle 15-20 touches per game in the very near future. He’s an RB2/FLEX in a tough matchup against the Ravens this week.
9/5/17 - 02:33 PM ET
Jeremy Hill carries six times in Week 1 loss.
Hill had 26 yards on his six attempts and had a -2 yard reception on his only target against the Ravens. He was more effective than Joe Mixon on the ground, but it’s clear this is currently a split backfield with Hill, Mixon, and Giovani Bernard. Hill should probably not be in your fantasy lineup, despite his touchdown upside.

Jordan Matthews is active for Week 1.
Matthews didn’t play during the preseason as he dealt with a chipped sternum after being acquired by the Bills, so this’ll be his first game in a Bills uniform. The fourth-year receiver has a chance to be a real target machine in Buffalo, but we’ll see what happens today against the Jets.
