Cam Newton | Free Agent QB

Cam Newton (shoulder) is listed listed as questionable for Week 1.

The NFL got rid of the probable injury designation, or else Newton would likely be classified as that. Newton practiced fully all week and will be out there on Sunday against the 49ers. It’ll be fun to see a full game with all these new weapons on the Panthers offense, and Newton is a no-doubt QB1 for the game.

9/8/17 - 11:50 AM ET

Mohamed Sanu | Free Agent WR

Mohamed Sanu grabs six passes in Week 1.

Sanu led the Falcons in targets against the Bears, with nine. He had 47 yards on the six receptions, so he had a better day in PPR leagues than standard. Sanu could have another solid PPR day next week versus the Packers.

9/11/17 - 10:43 AM ET

Joe Webb | Free Agent QB

The Bills signed quarterback Joe Webb.

The veteran quarterback worked out with Buffalo yesterday and the Bills decided to sign him. Webb will fill in as the third quarterback behind Tyrod Taylor and Nathan Peterman, and he’ll be the backup if Taylor isn’t able to go in the opener on Sunday. Webb can also contribute on special teams, so we’ll see if the Bills keep three quarterbacks active on game days.

9/4/17 - 09:36 AM ET

Jamison Crowder | Free Agent WR

Jamison Crowder (hip) is questionable for Week 1.

Crowder missed practice on Wednesday and was a limited participant yesterday and today. He should be out there in the Redskins’ first game against the Eagles, but check back in Sunday morning to make sure.

9/8/17 - 04:51 PM ET

Odell Beckham Jr. | Free Agent WR

Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.

He did not participate in practice again today, so he’d be going into Sunday night’s game without any practice time. If he really can’t go in the game, it must be a Grade 2 or 3 sprain or a high-ankle sprain. OBJ looked fine in the videos released of him working out, and we’d expect him to be out there Sunday night—but it sounds like that might happen.

9/8/17 - 10:49 AM ET

Julio Jones | Free Agent WR

Julio Jones catches four-of-five targets in Falcons’ Week 1 win.

Jones had 66 yards on his four receptions. Some would’ve liked to see the star receiver get more targets, but the Falcons completed over 66% of their passes and won in Chicago against the Bears. Julio gets the Packers next Sunday night, a team he’s historically lit up. He’s arguably the top overall non-quarterback option for Week 2.

9/11/17 - 10:41 AM ET

Brad Kaaya | Bengals QB

The Panthers claimed quarterback Brad Kaaya.

Kaaya was a sixth-round pick of the Lions that they waived and tried to get through to the practice squad, but Carolina likes Kaaya and claimed him. The former Miami quarterback will have time to sit and develop as a third quarterback with the Panthers, and he should be able to work his way into the primary backup role behind Cam Newton.
