Join now >Brock Osweiler has been released by the Cleveland Browns, according to Mike Garafolo.
It was first reported by Zac Jackson of The Athletic. This was expected after he didn’t play in the team’s final preseason game, and Cleveland couldn’t find a trade partner, which isn’t a surprise. The Browns basically eat $16 million in exchange for the second-round pick they got for the Texans. The team will go with DeShone Kizer, Cody Kessler, and Kevin Hogan at quarterback. It shouldn’t take too long for Osweiler to find a new team, but he will almost certainly have to settle for a backup role. Perhaps the Jaguars would be interested.

Martavis Bryant has been cleared for regular season practices and games.
This was fully expected, but it has to be comforting for anyone who already had their draft and took Bryant. He’s got tremendous upside in the early-mid rounds, but there’s always a chance he violates league rules again. Still, you would think he has matured some and will stay clean from here on out.

Jermaine Kearse has reportedly been traded to the Jets.
According to Gee Scott of 710ESPN, Kearse has been traded, but there are reports out there that the Seahawks are getting Sheldon Richardson as a part of the deal. It’d be quite the get for Seattle from a talent perspective, as Richardson is a 2013 first-round pick with 18 sacks through four seasons. As for Kearse, he might step right in as the Jets’ number one receiver over Robby Anderson, so the move from Seattle helps his fantasy value. Kearse went to the University of Washington, so this is going to hurt some Seahawks fans; but Kearse has a Super Bowl ring to show for his five seasons with Seattle.

The Cardinals released RB Chris Johnson, according to Adam Schefter.
This is a bit of surprise, as it seemed Johnson was the number two guy behind David Johnson. This could mean Andre Ellington has made the team, but we’ll see within the next 24+ hours. As for Johnson, he’ll be 32 later this month and it’s no guarantee other teams are interested in him. It’s certainly possible CJ2K has played his last snap in the NFL.

The Broncos cut running back Stevan Ridley.
Ridley made a great effort to make the final roster for the Broncos, but it became a numbers game in the backfield. Now a few years removed from his ACL and MCL tear in 2014 with the Patriots, Ridley looks a lot healthier and like he could contribute to a team. He should be able to find another team that will give him an opportunity.

The Ravens cut Larry Donnell.
Donnell signed with Baltimore after the start of training camp to give them more tight end depth, but he will not make the final roster. Benjamin Watson, Nick Boyle, and Maxx Williams will likely be the only three tight ends on Baltimore’s roster. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old Donnell should get interest from other teams.

John Ross (knee) is in jeopardy of missing the season opener.
The speedy rookie receiver suffered a knee injury in last night’s preseason game, and Ian Rapoport reports it’s a knee sprain and the opener “could be in doubt.” At least it’s not a lengthy injury, but it obviously would not be the start Ross wants if he’s unable to play in Week 1 of his first NFL season. Injury reports come out this week, so we’ll see how the Bengals list Ross.
