It was the important Week 3 preseason game, but the Cardinals were not looking to get their star running back injured. Johnson had one reception for eight yards before exiting, and he’s 100% and fresh heading into the regular season. DJ should probably be the first running back selected in all fantasy drafts, given Le’Veon Bell’s holdout and Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension.

Carson Palmer throws touchdown in Cardinals’ third preseason game.
Palmer looked good in the exhibition against Atlanta, going 8/13 for 86 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was a perfect deep ball to John Brown for 28 yards. The 37-year-old quarterback has looked very good this preseason, and he’ll look to continue it into the regular season. Palmer and the Cardinals open the season on September 10 in Detroit against the Lions.

Demaryius Thomas suffered a groin injury in tonight’s preseason game against the Packers.
It’s unclear exactly when Thomas sustained the injury, but he’s out for the game. Thomas was seen standing on the sidelines, so it’s probably not too bad. He’ll have over two weeks to get ready for Week 1 in the late game of the Monday Night Football doubleheader. More information on the extent of Thomas’ injury should become available after the game or in the coming days, but he should be safe to draft in your fantasy league.

Adam Humphries left Saturday night’s game against the Browns with a hip injury and will not return.
The slot receiver had two catches for 24 yards before leaving, but it’s likely just a precaution, as he was standing on the sidelines in full uniform when they announced he was done for the game. Chris Godwin has impressed tonight with Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson out, so Humphries could lose playing time to the rookie early in the regular season.

Spencer Ware reportedly avoids ACL injury.
Last night, the Chiefs reportedly believed Ware avoided an ACL injury, and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says Ware “suffered damage to his LCL & PCL.” Ware is going to miss time, but it’s unclear how long he’ll be out and Rapoport says there will be more tests to determine the timeframe. It’s still possible Ware’s injury keeps him out for a while, but it sounds like he won’t be missing the entire season. During Ware’s absence, rookie Kareem Hunt will be the clear lead back for Kansas City and will have a lot of fantasy value as long as he is.

Tyrod Taylor has a concussion.
The Bills starting quarterback was being tested for a concussion, and he does indeed have one. He’s out for the rest of this exhibition against the Ravens, and there’s no guarantee he gets cleared by Week 1. We have to hope the concussion isn’t too bad and Taylor can get out of protocol soon. If he misses any regular season time, it’d probably be a slight downgrade to LeSean McCoy.

Tyrod Taylor leaves Bills’ third preseason game with a head injury
Taylor’s head hit the ground hard when a couple Ravens defenders brought him down. Taylor immediately grabbed his head and was helped off the field. The Bills announced that Taylor is being evaluated for a concussion, so hopefully he ends up being OK. Rookie Nathan Peterman will now take over with the first team and attempt to show he can take control of the offense.
