Join now >James Abbrederis scores in Week 3 of the preseason.
Abbrederis played for much of the season half, catching all three targets for 26 yards and a touchdown from backup quarterback Jake Rudock. The Lions are deep at receiver, but Abbrederis should be able to make the final roster. It’s unlikely he delvers reliable fantasy value this season, though.

Travis Kelce catches one pass for nine yards in exhibition against Seattle.
He and the Chiefs starters played the first half of the third preseason game. Kelce did also have a drop over the middle that he potentially could have taken for a first down. It’d be a shock if Kelce played in the team’s final preseason game next Thursday, as the focus is one two Thursdays from now when Kansas City opens the season against New England. It’s possible the top two tight ends—Kelce and Rob Gronkowski—are on the field for that game.

Tyreek Hill struggles against Seattle in Week 3 of the preseason.
Hill had one reception for 11 yards, but he had a couple drops in the game, which hurt Alex Smith and the offense. The good news is he got open—he just needed to finish the plays by making the catch. This is not overly concerning, but it’s a reminder that Hill is still a young player and might be inconsistent at times, despite being Kansas City’s new number one wide receiver. Hill is currently being selected as a top 50 pick in most fantasy drafts.

C.J. Spiller carries three times for ten yards in Chiefs’ third preseason game.
Spiller also added a three-yard reception in the exhibition against Seattle. In a situation you just don’t want to see, starting running back Spencer Ware was carted off with injury. Spiller’s roster spot should be locked up, given Ware’s injury likely to keep him out for a few weeks at least. Spiller has a chance to be the number two running back behind rookie Kareem Hunt to open the season.

Charcandrick West gets six touches in Week 3 of the preseason.
West had three carries for -1 yards and caught three-of-four targets for nine yards. His teammate Spencer Ware unfortunately went down with a knee injury that could force him to miss an extended period of time and/or the season, but rookie Kareem Hunt worked as the clear number one back when Ware went down. West does look like he’ll be the number two if Ware does miss time, as is expected.

Jimmy Garoppolo plays over a half in preseason game against Detroit.
Jimmy G was 7/12 for 83 yards after entering for Tom Brady, who played almost the entire first half of the Week 3 preseason game. Garoppolo helped lead the game-winning drive that led to a field goal as time expired. We’ll see if Garoppolo gets time in the Patriots’ final preseason game or if Jacoby Brissett will handle things.

Jake Rudock plays great in third preseason game.
The second-year quarterback from Michigan went 10/13 for 113 yards and a touchdown in the exhibition against New England. Rudock also added a 16-yard run where he showed surprising top-end speed. It certainly looks like the Lions are in a great position at backup quarterback with Rudock there.
