West had seven carries for 113 yards, including his long run. This was a needed performance, as he appears to be on the roster bubble in a Chiefs running back group that also includes Spencer Ware, Kareem Hunt, and C.J. Spiller.

Spencer Ware gets one touch in Chiefs’ preseason game.
Ware had one carry for three yards before giving way to rookie Kareem Hunt for first-team work. The bad news (for Ware’s fantasy value) is Hunt did extremely well when he entered the game. But the good news is the Chiefs might see Ware as the clear number one if they are fine with getting him out of the game quickly to keep him ready for the regular season. Given Hunt’s impressiveness, Ware does carry some risk if you’re drafting him to be a near-workhorse for Kansas City.

Cooper Rush was 8/9 for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the Cowboys preseason win.
Rush has outplayed Kellen Moore so far this preseason, and the undrafted rookie is 17/20 for 196 yards and three touchdowns over the past two games. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get more work with the second-team offense at Moore’s expense.

Patrick Mahomes II impresses again in second preseason game.
The rookie quarterback entered the game after Alex Smith and got some time with the first-team offense. Overall, he was 10/14 for 88 yards and two touchdowns, while adding three carries for 29 yards on the ground. Mahomes nearly scored in a 14-yard scramble where he laid out and extended towards the pylon, but he then threw a touchdown after being marked just short. The 10th overall pick would probably have some decent fantasy value if anything were to happen to Alex Smith this year, but Mahomes is a very strong quarterback to own in dynasty leagues.

Dak puts on quick show in first action of 2017.
Prescott was 7/8 for 106 yards, including a touchdown connection with Dez Bryant. Going in the 9th/10th round in fantasy drafts, Prescott’s ADP will likely rise a bit after the performance. He will be asked to do a little more with Ezekiel Elliott suspended the first six weeks of the regular season. Dallas plays Oakland in the regular season dress rehearsal next Saturday.

Alex Smith plays well again in preseason Week 2.
The Chiefs starter moved the ball on offense, going 8/9 for 83 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals. A potentially more aggressive Smith might put up better numbers this year, but he’s still going to take care of the ball better than most quarterbacks—this could make him a backend QB1 or high-end QB2 in 2017.

Fred Brown catches touchdown in Saturday night’s preseason game.
The undrafted rookie caught two passes for 33 yards and a score in the fourth quarter. Brown was dismissed from Mississippi State in April of 2016, but the Colts are giving him a chance to make his mark this month. He isn’t someone you need to worry about for fantasy purposes in 2017.
