Ameer Abdullah carries four times for 16 yards in exhibition against the Jets.

He also added a five-yard reception on his only target. Abdullah worked as the clear lead back in the Lions offense, and he’ll be just that this season. He’s currently going outside the top 25 running backs in fantasy drafts and is a potential steal at that ADP.

Cardale Jones completes just 2/9 passes for 50 yards in Chargers debut.

Traded to Los Angeles less than three weeks ago, Jones played behind incumbent backup Kellen Clemens, but neither had a good game. Head coach Anthony Lynn was with Jones last year in Buffalo as offensive coordinator, so Jones should know the offense by now, and we can’t really use that as an excuse for the performance. Maybe he will be better with more time to adjust to the players around him, but, turning 25-years-old in September, the former Ohio State quarterback remains a significant project.

Mike Gillislee is not playing in the Patriots’ second preseason game.

Gillislee hasn’t practiced fully in at least a couple weeks while dealing with a hamstring injury. He might be in danger of falling almost completely out of the mix in New England’s backfield. Rex Burkhead will look to take advantage in his preseason debut with the Patriots. Hopefully Gillislee can get to 100% soon.

Tanner McEvoy catches one pass in Week 1 of the preseason.

Seattle’s big receiver had one 23-yard reception. Russell Wilson took a deep shot towards the end zone to McEvoy in the first series of the game. He looks locked into a roster spot.

Matthew Stafford plays well in Week 2 of the preseason against the Jets.

The Lions gunslinger was 8/10 for 84 yards and a touchdown. Stafford made accurate throws all over the field, capping it off with a beautiful throw on a fade to Marvin Jones for a touchdown. He looks to be clicking on all cylinders and hopefully he can keep it going as we near the regular season.

C.J. Prosise gets limited preseason action against the Chargers.

Prosise had one carry for three yards and one catch for eight yards. It appears, for now, that Thomas Rawls is locked in as the early-down runner, with Prosise taking passing downs. He could handle a good amount of carries, but the Seahawks might prefer to use him more as a receiver out of the backfield while letting Rawls and Eddie Lacy handle the majority of the carries.

Eric Decker didn’t play in the Titans’ second preseason game.

Decker twisted his ankle in practice on Wednesday and didn’t practice, but it’s not a huge deal. Decker will be fine well in advance of Week 1 and he might play in the team’s third preseason game next week.
