The undrafted rookie from Kentucky Wesleyan caught the long touchdown from Chad Henne in the second quarter. He ended up with two receptions for 108 yards and the touchdown. It’s a great start for Cole, as he attempts to claim a roster spot on the Jags.

Kadeem Carey leaves preseason game against Denver with a quad injury.
Carey had four carries for 31 yards before leaving. He’s probably battling for a roster spot, so hopefully he can get back on the field for practice and the next preseason game.

T.J. Yeldon had two carries for no yards in Jaguars Week 1 preseason game.
Yeldon also had a four-yard reception. Because of the addition of Leonard Fournette, Yeldon is probably the third running back for Jacksonville in terms of carries, but he should remain involved in the passing game.

Emmanuel Sanders catches one pass for five yards in preseason game.
Sanders and Demaryius Thomas didn’t play too long in the first game of the preseason for Denver. He’s looking for his fourth straight 1,000-yard season.

Chris Ivory starts first preseason game for Jacksonville.
Ivory had six carries for 20 yards, including a 15-yard run. He ran hard, and he probably doesn’t want to be phased out by rookie Leonard Fournette. Ivory should be a contributor this season, even if and when Fournette becomes the lead dog.

Benny Cunningham gets nine touches and scores in first preseason game.
Cunningham had seven carries for 41 yards and a touchdown, along with two receptions for 25 yards for the Bears. He’s looking to make the roster as a backup behind Jordan Howard.

Rookie Leonard Fournette scores in first preseason game.
The fourth overall pick in the draft looked as advertised, carrying nine times for 31 yard and a touchdown at the goal line. Fournette certainly runs hard, and he might quickly become one of the least favorite backs for defenders in the NFL to tackle. Chris Ivory started the game and also ran hard, but this will probably become Fournette’s backfield this season.
