Bills receiver Corey Brown had three catches and 23 yards in first preseason game.

Brown is attempting to break through the depth chart and be a big contributor on offense this season in his first with Buffalo.

Andre Holmes starts opposite Sammy Watkins in first preseason game.

It’s a good sign for Holmes that he started the game, but he didn’t catch any passes before he exited. With Anquan Boldin—who didn’t play in the game after just arriving with the team this week—in the mix, Holmes might need to hold him off to keep his current starting position.

Jarius Wright catches one pass to open the preseason against Buffalo.

With Laquon Treadwell out for over a week because of a thigh injury, Wright has an opportunity to step up and work with the first-team offense until Treadwell returns. Wright will probably be battling for a roster spot, though, given Minnesota’s depth at receiver.

Vikings receiver Michael Floyd catches two passes in Week 1 of the preseason.

Floyd had two receptions for 20 yards. Suspended for the first four games of the season, Floyd is likely to get a good amount of playing time this preseason. In Week 2, Minnesota plays Seattle, a team Floyd has had some good success against during his time with the Cardinals.

Stacy Coley produces in first preseason game.

The receiver out of Miami had three receptions for 67 yards, including a 38-yard reception. Coley was a productive receiver in college, and he could emerge as a contributor during his rookie season with fellow receiver Michael Floyd suspended the first four games of the season. He’ll face Seattle next Friday.

Nathan Peterman performs in first NFL preseason game.

The fifth-round pick out of Pitt was 13/25 for 112 yards and a touchdown, along with four carries for 22 yards. On his opening drive, Peterman was 6/8 for 44 yards and a touchdown, with 22 yards rushing. He did also lose a fumble. T.J. Yates worked as the number two behind Tyrod Taylor, but Peterman might be able to unseat him for that role.

Bills target Sammy Watkins early and often in Week 1 of the preseason.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw Sammy the ball for four of his five completions, and he had 39 yards on the four receptions. Watkins looks to be in great shape and will be the focal point of the Bills’ passing game. He should get a ton of targets from Taylor this season and offers elite WR1 upside.
