Join now >Ryan Tannehill went down with a non-contact injury at practice today, according to multiple reports.
Tannehill apparently went down on a scramble and was escorted by trainers to the locker room. Of course, the quarterback partially tore his ACL last year, but he and the team declined to have it surgically repaired. Hopefully this has nothing to do with that and Tannehill turns out to be alright, but non-contact injuries are rarely positive. Matt Moore is the Dolphins’ backup quarterback.

The Bills have signed running back Taiwan Jones.
Jones spent the first six years of his career with Oakland, averaging 4.2 yards per attempt on 44 carries. He was mostly a solid special teams player with the Raiders, and his only carry last season went for negative-eight yards. Buffalo doesn’t have great depth behind LeSean McCoy, but Jones is unlikely to be a fantasy contributor with 61 career touches.

Matt Forte is back practicing for the Jets.
Forte is back to 100% after dealing with a hamstring injury. He might not play in the team’s first preseason game this week, but it’s good to see him back. The veteran running back will be sharing the backfield with Bilal Powell this season.

Kenny Golladay looks “absolutely devastating” in the red zone, according to Kyle Meinke of MLive.
Golladay dominated in red zone drills in practice yesterday, scoring on all three of his opportunities. Head coach Jim Caldwell talked up the rookie receiver’s ability to be used all over the field with great speed and a wide catch radius. The hype is building for Golladay, who All-Pro receiver Chad Johnson says has the “it factor.” Anquan Boldin was a great red zone target and had eight touchdowns with the Lions last season, and Golladay will look to emerge as the team’s primary red zone threat this season. Golladay is looking like he’s definitely worth a pick late at the end of fantasy drafts.

Tavon Austin is day-to-day.
Head coach Sean McVay says his speedy receiver tweaked his hamstring and they want to be “really careful.” When Austin left practice a couple days ago, it was expected to be just a minor leg injury, and McVay confirmed it. We’ll see if Austin can get healthy for the Rams’ first preseason game next week.

Jamison Crowder says he is day-to-day with his hamstring injury.
Rich Tandler of CSN Mid-Atlantic tweeted that Crowder “won’t reveal much information” about the issue. Crowder has missed the last few days of practice with the injury, and the team hasn’t said anything notable about it. It’s probably just a minor issue, but the team might opt to keep Crowder out for their first preseason game next week.

The Vikings activated Latavius Murray (ankle) from the PUP list.
Murray is now 100% and will practice today for the first time with his new team. It’s unlikely he plays in the first preseason game this week, but Latavius will look to carve out solid role and stop the momentum of Dalvin Cook, who was looking to runaway with the starting job. Murray is great in short yardage and goal line situations, so he might have a role as the goal line back at the minimum. Don’t count him out for winning the starting job outright, either. Preseason play will likely go a long way in determining who is in the backfield for the first snap of the regular season between Cook and Murray.
