Join now >Free agent running back Ronnie Hilllman worked out for the Cowboys yesterday, according to Field Yates.
Fellow free agent back Denard Robinson also worked out for the team yesterday. Dallas is reportedly looking to fill the void left by Lance Dunbar (who is now in LA with the Rams) as a reliable passing down back. Neither Robinson nor Hillman have signed, but either one of them could at some point. Hillman is only 25 and should sign somewhere before the season.

Browns receiver Kenny Britt thinks DeShone Kizer can be “one of the great ones.”
The veteran receiver has been very impressed with the rookie quarterback’s growth throughout the preseason and the beginning of training camp. Second-year quarterback Cody Kessler is expected to be the starter after performing well last season, but Kizer looks like he’ll force a tough decision from the Browns. Keep an eye on Kizer in dynasty leagues, as the Browns are a potential team on the upswing.

Ron Rivera: “wouldn’t say” if Cam Newton would be 100% healthy going into training camp.
Of course, Newton underwent offseason shoulder surgery to his right arm, but he’s been throwing the football at least. The Panthers will likely play it slow with their franchise quarterback, and it would be a surprise if he wasn’t out there for Week 1 against the Niners. Newton is a good bounce back candidate after Carolina added Christian McCaffrey and Curtis Samuel to the offense in the NFL Draft. He’s currently going as a mid-range QB1.

The Seahawks placed Tyler Lockett on the PUP list.
Lockett, who is recovering from a broken leg at the end of last regular season, didn’t pass his physical. Head coach Pete Carroll believes it will be a “very short stay” for Lockett on the PUP, so that’s a good sign. He can be taken off the PUP and practice at any time. The electric third-year receiver does have seven receiving touchdowns through two seasons, but he’s looking to breakout in 2017.

Adam Schefter reports the NFL will not announce any possible Ezekiel Elliott suspension this weekend.
Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero earlier reported that NFL was “wrapping up” its investigation into Elliott. The Cowboys report to training camp tomorrow, but the NFL moves at its own pace when it comes to investigations and possible discipline. It’s always possible there never is an announcement and Elliott isn’t suspended, but that doesn’t seem very likely. Perhaps next week is when we hear something on this.

The Ravens are discussing bringing in RGIII for a workout.
Team owner Steve Bisciotti said this at a fan forum, according to Jeff Zrebiec. Baltimore has also had discussions with Colin Kaepernick. Despite breakdown in his throwing mechanics, Robert Griffin III probably offers more upside as a quarterback than Kaepernick does. Griffin just had a workout with the Chargers early this week.

Michael Campanaro (toe) will open training camp on the PUP list.
Campanaro can be activated at any time, but the Ravens get an open roster spot for as long as he’s on the list. Baltimore’s signing of Jeremy Maclin pushed Campanaro to the fourth wide receiver, but if he can get healthy, there is a chance he can beat out a so-far-disappointing Breshad Perriman for work behind Maclin and Mike Wallace. Still, he probably won’t be a fantasy option in 2017.
