Join now >John Ross says he is cleared to practice.
The rookie receiver will be practicing on a limited basis to start, but says he’ll be 100% soon. He’s had no issues with his shoulder surgery, and it’s looking like we should see him in preseason games. Ross will certainly be an exciting guy to watch this season, and his ADP, which is currently outside the top 50 receivers, is almost certain to rise as fantasy drafts get closer.

Victor Cruz's visit with the Jaguars will be on May 23, according to Kimberly Jones.
Cruz could draw interest from other teams before then. With Allen Robinson Marqise Lee, Allen Hurns, Dede Westbrook, Bryan Walters, and others in the mix, Cruz would likely get more playig time elsewhere.

Retirement “remains an option” for Ben Roethlisberger after the season.
Roethlisberger told Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that his wife would like him to retire. The two-time Super Bowl champion says he’s been in the league for a long time, and notes that football takes up a lot of your time, which includes being away from family. Roethilsberger would not commit to playing past this season, insisting that he’s just focused on this year and will think about it after the season. The Steelers drafted Joshua Dobbs out of Tennessee in the fourth round, and he could be the future for the Steelers. If not, they might have some searching to do after 2017. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Roethlisberger, 35, play for a few more seasons, either—despite the talk of potential retirement.

Statement on behalf of recently arrested running back D'Onta Foreman has been released.
According to the statement, Foreman was at the University of Texas to visit friends and the police approached him as he was leaving. Foreman told the police he has a registered handgun legally secured in his vehicle. The statement also says the a passenger in the vehicle had marijuana, but that Foreman did not use any and will submit to a urinalysis to confirm this. The good news is Foreman handled the situation well and fully cooperated with the police offers. If the urinalysis shows he did not use any marijuana, this issue should be put to bed quickly. Foreman probably needs to let his friends and/or associates know they can't be using around him anymore, though.

Joe Flacco says he’s taking his back injury day-by-day.
The Ravens quarterback says he’s basically just resting and there is no timetable for him to get back on the field. Flacco made it clear they are being conservative and cautious about the issue. He added no one is more disappointed than him that he’s not out there, but they aren’t going to rush it. Right now, Flacco feels “great” and isn’t really doing anything right now because he doesn’t want to push it. Flacco flatly stated this won’t affect him all season and he just needs to let the issue die down a little bit so that it doesn’t affect him all season—that’s why he’s resting now. So basically, the hope is that some rest will eliminate the issue so Flacco can be 100% and not deal with the issue throughout the year. He sounded confident it’s just a minor issue, which is a great sign.

Free agent receiver Victor Cruz is visiting the Jaguars, according to Tom Pelissero.
Of course, Cruz played for Tom Coughlin—who is now running the Jaguars football operations—with the Giants. The Jaguars have a deep receiving group, but they are young, so maybe they want to bring a veteran in the mix.

Martellus Bennett needed help getting up and appeared to be limping during a non-contact drill at Packers practice.
Packers reporter Chris Barriere said Bennett was grabbing his left leg. Non-contact injuries are always a concern, but at least he got up and walked off instead of needing a cart. Hopefully it’s some sort of minor hamstring/quad tweak instead of a knee/ankle, but we will keep you updated when we hear more.
