Join now >Golden Tate says he wasn't talking about getting an extension right now.
When Julian Edelman got a contract extension a couple days ago, Tate tweeted that he hopes he's "one of the next ones to get extended." At a charity softball game, Tate clarified his tweet, according to the Detroit Free Press, saying he was "hinting at it in a few years, of course," because he still has two years left on his deal. Tate did also say he felt he was underpaid, and that he would love to stay in Detroit if they want him. For this season, Tate is a good bet for 80-90+ catches.

Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable says the team "nailed" its offseason offensive line additions.
Seattle added former number two overall pick Luke Joeckel in free agency, along with Oday Aboushi and second-rounder Ethan Pocic. Left tackle George Fant is a very athletic tackle that added weight for his second season and is working with Hall of Fame left tackle Walter Jones to improve his game. Germain Ifedi—Seattle's 2016 first round pick—is now at right tackle. Overall, the team seems to be deeper at offensive line with their offseason additions. The Seahawks want to run the ball more this season, and a strong offensive line would certainly help that cause. It'll also help Russell Wilson if he's not running for his life back there.

The Redskins want to expand third-year receiver Jamison Crowder's role.
Jamison Crowder will be a full-time starter this season, playing outside in two receiver sets and he'll kick inside in three receiver sets. This is notable, as it will certainly lead to an increase in targets for Crowder. Head coach Jay Gruden said they'll "try to get him more involved" and that "he can run just about anything you ask him to run." The electric 5'9" receiver has been productive during his first two seasons in the league, but Crowder could be looking at a step forward and a huge third-year breakout.

Chiefs rookie running back Kareem Hunt is impressing with his intelligence.
Running backs coach Eric Bieniemy says the team has been "throwing the book" at Hunt to see how well he can retain information. Bieniemy says Hunt is not only retaining the information, but he's "done a great job of working out there" and that his "football IQ is very high." Kansas City obviously likes Toledo's all-time leading rusher, as they selected him in the third round of this year's draft. Hunt's presence, along with Charcandrick West, C.J. Spiller, and others, makes it seem unlikely that Spencer Ware will be a workhorse for the Chiefs. Keep an eye on Hunt throughout the preseason.

Thomas Rawls has been "flying around the field" at OTAs.
Rawls probably wants to prove himself after the team signed Eddie Lacy this offseason, and the third-year back is said to be sprinting 30-40 yards at the end of every play, arriving first to every drill, and supporting his teammates with yells and high-fives, including defensive players. Lacy is the favorite for early-down work and C.J. Prosise will likely handle passing-game duties, but fantasy owners shouldn't forget about Rawls, who averaged 5.6 yards per carry as a rookie before he fought injuries last season. We would bet on the taleneted (and angry) runner winding up as the best value in the Seahawks backfield this season.

Brandin Cooks has "wowed" coaches and teammates with his on-field explosion.
Cooks lined up all over the formation at Patriots minicamp, including in the slot, where he was extremely effective with crossing routes. New England safety Devin McCourty simply called the new receiver "fast," saying that his work ethic stands out because even when he doesn't get thrown the ball, he simulates a catch and run. Cooks caught the most passes from Tom Brady over the three-day minicamp, which is a positive sign that the two are developing good chemistry together. There are a lot of mouths to feed on the Pats offense, but Cooks is undoubtedly the team's best wide receiver since Randy Moss, and he should have a lot of fantasy success in 2017.

Lions receiver Golden Tate tweets that he wants a new contract.
Tate "quote tweeted" a tweet from Pro Football Focus that shows Julian Edelman—who just received a contract extension—forced the fifth-most missed tackles as a receiver since 2014, with Tate being number one during that time. The tweet said "I hope I'm one of the next ones to get extended….. big plays can come in all shapes and forms huh?" Tate has two years left on his contract and he already has cap hits of $8 million and $9 million over those two years, however. Tate has had 90+ catches over the last three seasons (his three seasons with Detroit), but the team is able to get out of Tate's contract after the season while taking a cap hit of about only $2 million; so Tate might be looking at a new contract after the season, but maybe not the way he'd want to. If he plays well, his contract will be taken care of, but Detroit doesn't have much incentive to extend him right now.
