Tevin Coleman (knee) will not play in Week 10.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says he hopes that Coleman will be able to return after the Week 11 bye week, but he’ll miss his second consecutive game after re-aggravating his knee injury a couple of weeks ago. The upside is there, but Coleman is not a must-hold if you don’t have any IR spots and need roster space.

Damien Harris (ankle, chest) was officially limited in practice.

Harris getting on the practice field a couple of nights after taking a shot to the chest that forced him to leave the game late against the Jets is a promising sign. Also, Harris is reportedly schedules to talk to the media on Friday, another positive indication for his Week 10 status. We’ll let you know how Harris, who has gotten questionable tags in recent weeks because of a minor ankle issue, is listed on the final injury report ahead of the weekend.

Matt Breida (hamstring) was officially limited in today’s practice.

This is a fine start to the week for Breida, who appears to have a shot to return after missing last week with the hamstring issue. Ideally, Breida will be up to a full practice status by Friday.

Joe Mixon (foot) officially did not practice today.

This isn’t a great start to the week for Mixon coming off the bye, but it’s only Wednesday, so hopefully the star runner can return to practice tomorrow or Friday. If he’s unable to get on the field on at least a limited basis tomorrow, there would be major cause for concern regarding his Week 10 status.

The 49ers promoted Austin Walter to the active roster.

Walter noticeably showed juice as a returner last Thursday night, so it’ll be interesting to see if he ends up getting some offensive run if Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Tevin Coleman (knee) remain out. For now, Walter isn’t worth picking up in redraft leagues.

The 49ers signed Josh Johnson to their practice squad.

Johnson is a mobile quarterback that can give San Francisco good looks in practice ahead of upcoming matchups against Josh Allen, Kyler Murray, and Russell Wilson. The 49ers seem to feel good about both Nick Mullens and C.J. Beathard, so Johnson would probably need an injury to eventually make starts.

Mo Alie-Cox (knee) is officially listed as questionable for Thursday night.

Alie-Cox was projected as a full participant for today’s practice, and we expect him to be fine for tomorrow night versus the Titans. Alie-Cox’s status will be official an hour and a half before tomorrow’s 8:20 PM ET kickoff.
