WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Chad Henne | Chiefs QB

The Chiefs re-signed Chad Henne, according to Yahoo Sports' Terez A. Paylor.

It's a two-year deal according to Paylor, who reported the two sides were expected to reach an agreement on a new deal. Henne will serve as depth behind star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Chad Henne | Chiefs QB

The Chiefs have activated Chad Henne off injured reserve.

Henne had a preseason ankle injury that's kept him out for the first eight weeks of the season, but he's being activated for this season. The veteran quarterback is officially listed as questionable for tomorrow's game against the Vikings; and with Pat Shurmur waived, Henne's status will probably come down to whether Patrick Mahomes (knee, questionable) plays. Matt Moore is set to remain the starter while Mahomes is out.

Chad Henne has a fractured ankle.

He'll likely be placed on injured reserve, but we'll see. Expect the Chiefs to bring in another veteran quarterback behind Patrick Mahomes.

Chad Henne | Chiefs QB

Chad Henne sees action in 35-3 win over the Raiders.

Henne completed two-of-three passes for 29 yards, also adding a three-yard rush. Kansas City's backup will ideally not see the field in the playoffs.

Chad Henne is siging with the Chiefs.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo says it's a two-year deal for the former Dolphins and Jaguars quarterback. Henne will provide leadership in the quarterback room and backup Patrick Mahomes for Kansas City. Considering the weapons in the Chiefs offense, Henne could become a streaming option if he was forced to hit the field this season.

Chad Henne | Chiefs QB

Chad Henne leads one touchdown drive in one half of Week 3 preseason game.

The veteran quarterback drew the start as Jacksonville tries to determine their starter to open the regular season. Henne was 8/14 for 73 yards along with a 14-yard carry in his half of play. The touchdown drive was a nine-play, 80-yard one that ended with a Chris Ivory touchdown run. Henne didn't make any big mistakes, which is a positive. This quarterback competition could go down to Week 4 of the preseason and the starter could remain a secret until the Jags take the field in Week 1, but Henne is probably in the lead based off him starting the third preseason game.

Chad Henne | Chiefs QB

Chad Henne is starting the Jaguars' third preseason game tomorrow.

Head coach Doug Marrone has stated this quarterback competition is wide open, and it appears Henne is ahead of Blake Bortles. However, both Henne and Bortles will get time with the first team in tomorrow's exhibition against Carolina. Henne obviously looked better in the second preseason game against Tampa Bay, but we'll see what happens tomorrow night. Out of Henne and Bortles, Henne is probably better for the skill position players for Jacksonville in terms of fantasy value.

Quarterback controversy? Chad Henne gets first-team snaps in second preseason game.

With Jaguars starter Blake Bortles not looking sharp, Henne was inserted into the game in the second quarter. Henne ripped two perfect throws to the end zone for potential touchdowns, but they were both dropped by receivers Keelan Cole and Allen Robinson. It would not be surprising to see the Jaguars make the switch, or give Henne reps with the first team at the very least.

Chad Henne throws long touchdown in Week 1 of the preseason.

Henne was 5/6 for 139 yards and a 99-yard touchdown to undrafted rookie Keenan Cole. The ten-year veteran will backup Blake Bortles this season.
