Dennis Pitta hints that his career is over.

"I've dislocated my hip three times. I'm not delusional," Pitta said. It's a very unfortunate situation for Pitta, who needs to make sure he can be healthy for the rest of his life, as he's still a young man. A retirement announcement should be coming at some point.

The Ravens have terminated tight end Dennis Pitta's contact.

They released him with an injury waiver. The move clears $2.5 million in cap space, which might help in their potential pursuit of receivers Eric Decker and Jeremy Maclin. Unfortunately, Pitta's career is very likely over after he suffered his third major hip injury in four years. He spent the last seven years with Baltimore after being drafted by them as a fourth round pick in 2010. Pitta was a key member of the Ravens over that time, including a Super Bowl XLVII victory that he caught a touchdown in. He will certainly remain a valued member of the Ravens family.

Dennis Pitta suffered a dislocated hip, according to Mike Garafolo.

This was the fear and seemed to be the case, but Garafolo says doctors confirmed the hip was dislocated. This is obviously horrible news, and could mean the end of Pitta's career. His life after football has to seriously be taken into consideration, as this is his third bad hip injury in four years.

Adam Schefter reports "the fear" is Pitta fractured and discloated his hip.

This would be the third time in four seasons, and Schefter says it would likely be the end of Pitta's career. This is a very unfortunate situation, and we will update you when there is more information.

Dennis Pitta suffered a hip injury in Ravens' OTAs, GM Ozzie Newsome announced.

This is simply terrible news, as Pitta has suffered from hip issues that he overcame, and returned to set a career-high in receptions last season. Newsome said Pitta "re-injured his hip and is undergoing tests to determine the severity." The injury was a non-contact injury, and he "couldn't put weight on his leg." It's already being called a major injury, which would be Pitta's third major hip injury in four years.  Hopefully Pitta receives some good news, but it doesn't look great right now.

Dennis Pitta restructured his contract to remain with the Ravens, according to Mike Garafolo

Pitta had a nice season last year, grabbing 86 passes. However, the Ravens are deep at tight end, including Benjamin Watson and Maxx Williams. Pitta is a team player, and took the pay cut to remain with Baltimore, but the tight end situation is murky for fantasy purposes. Training camp will shed more light on the situation.

Dennis Pitta caught 11 passes for 91 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.

Pitta played all 16 games for the first time since 2012 after missing all of last season with a hip injury. Turning 32 this summer, Pitta probably has little chance of repeating his line of 86 catches, 729 yards, and two touchdowns this season.

Dennis Pitta caught eight passes for 75 yards in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.

He led the team in both catches and targets (11) as Baltimore was eliminated from playoff contention with a 31-27 loss. Pitta will finish off his comeback campaign next Sunday against Cincinnati.

Dennis Pitta doesn't do much in tough matchup against Philadelphia.

Pitta had two catches for 16 yards. He isn't a reliable fantasy option, but it's good to see him healthy and contributing for a contending Ravens team.

Dennis Pitta | Free Agent TE

Dennis Pitta caught four passes for 18 yards against the Patriots.

He came way back down to earth after his scorching Week 13 when he scored twice on nine catches. Pitta should not be in your lineup next week against the Eagles.

Dennis Pitta breaks out for two touchdowns against the Dolphins.

Pitta had nine catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns. It's Pitta's first two touchdowns of the year and hopefully he remains involved moving forward. Pitta is worth an add if by some chance he continues this play after his slow season start.

Dennis Pitta caught three passes for 34 yards in Sunday's win.

The good news is he was second on the team in receiving in the game, but fantasy owners should be looking elsewhere at the tight end position; Pitta is a low-upside streaming option against Miami in Week 13.

Dennis Pitta catches three passes for 30 yards in Week 11 against Dallas.

Pitta hasn’t done much as the Ravens starting tight end this season. He should not be in your lineup, even in good matchups.

Pitta catches 6 passes, but is limited to 26 yards in win.

The Browns allowed Pitta to catch 9 passes for 102 yards in Week 2, but held him in check on Thursday night. The veteran tight end hasn't found the end zone yet this season, and will be a low-upside streaming option next week against the Cowboys.
