WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Devin Asiasi | Patriots TE

The Patriots activated Devin Asiasi from injured reserve.

New England has gotten accommodations from UCLA while staying over on the West Coast for the short week from playing the Chargers last Sunday to playing the Rams tonight, so it's cool that Asiasi is now being activated as his team plays near where he played his college ball for the Bruins tonight in southern California. The third-round rookie is not a highly recommended fantasy pickup for an offense that hasn't utilized the tight ends in the passing game much this year.

Devin Asiasi | Patriots TE

Devin Asiasi (personal) will not play in Week 8.

Asiasi didn't travel with the team, so the New England offense is even more thin with Julian Edelman (knee) and N'Keal Harry (concussion) already out. The Patriots will likely be hoping to keep the ball on the ground today against Buffalo.

Devin Asiasi | Patriots TE

The Patriots have selected Devin Asiasi with the No. 91 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Asiasi had a productive season for Chip Kelly at UCLA in 2019, and he will now join the Patriots to likely be their new No. 1 tight end. Rookies usually have a steep learning curve at the position, so Asiasi probably won’t start as a recommended option in redraft leagues in 2020. However, the long-term upside for the former Bruin is intriguing, and he'll be someone to keep an eye on early in his NFL career.
