WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Gary Jennings | Free Agent WR

The Bills released Gary Jennings from the practice squad.

Jennings was a recent signing by Buffalo, but they are going in another direction at this time.

The Bills signed Gary Jennings to the practice squad.

The second-year receiver has struggled to stick around with a team, but he will now look to develop in Buffalo and work his way onto the active roster. Jennings is not a must-hold in dynasty leagues.

The Dolphins have placed Gary Jennings on injured reserve.

Jennings made his team debut last week, but didn't record a catch. While his season ends without any statistics recorded, we really liked Jennings coming out of West Virginia, and Miami was the perfect landing spot for him to potentially earn a starting role next summer. He's basically free in dynasty leagues, so now is the time to acquire Jennings.

The Dolphins have claimed Gary Jennings.

The Seahawks were hoping to get the rookie fourth-round pick through waivers and onto the practice squad, but the Dolphins took advantage of their high waiver order and claimed the West Virginia product. Especially after Preston Williams' season-ending knee injury, Miami is a spot where Jennings could have a path to a good amount of playing time after he gets the playbook down. The rookie receiver was productive in college, and he's someone to watch moving forward.

The Seahawks waived Gary Jennings.

Jennings has struggled to get on the field for the Seahawks, and now it would have been even tougher with Josh Gordon added to the receiving corps. The fourth-round rookie should not have trouble finding a new landing spot, but he could land back with the Seattle practice squad if no other team picks him up.

Gary Jennings has not been waived by the Seahawks.

It appears the reporting of ESPN's Adam Schefter from last night might have been inaccurate or jumped the gun a bit, as the speculation and reporting that Jennings had been cut is apparently not true. ESPN's Field Yates says the Seahawks actually waived defensive tackle Bryan Mone to clear a roster spot, so the fourth-round rookie receiver is still on Seattle's active roster. Jennings is just a dynasty-league hold for now.

The Seahawks waived Gary Jennings, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This was reportedly expected to happen, but no reporters nor the Seahawks actually confirmed the move was being made yet. Jennings was just drafted in the fourth round in this year's draft, but he was unable to carve out a role in the receiving corps. We would think plenty of teams will be interested in claiming Jennings, but Seattle will likely look to get him onto their practice squad if not. For what it's worth, we thought Jennings should have been drafted higher than the fourth round.

The Seahawks have selected West Virginia wide receiver Gary Jennings with the No. 120 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jennings has flied way under the radar leading up to the draft, but we think that’s been a mistake, as he has the size, athleticism, and ball skills to be a difference-maker for the Seahawks. At West Virginia, Jennings showed he can play a variety of roles by performing as both an underneath target (97/1,096/1 line with 11.3 yards per reception as a junior) and downfield option (13 touchdowns and 17.0 yards per reception as a senior). With Seattle, he could immediately begin his career as a starter alongside Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf if Doug Baldwin misses significant time or retires, so he's immediately on the fantasy radar. Overall, Jennings compares favorably to emerging Buccaneers wideout Chris Godwin, and he could be a steal in dynasty leagues with no one talking about him right now.
