Jordan Leggett | Free Agent TE

Update: The Patriots are not signing Jordan Leggett.

Perhaps Leggett's physical did not go well, but regardless New England is going in another direction at tight end. The Patriots have been connected to veteran Delanie Walker.

The Patriots are signing Jordan Leggett.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says the signing is pending COVID-19 testing and a physical, so we'll let you know if anything changes. Leggett was most recently with the Buccaneers, but the former fifth-round pick of the Jets now joins a young and inexperienced tight end group in New England. Leggett probably faces an uphill climb for quality snaps with the Patriots, but perhaps he can form quick chemistry with Cam Newton, Jarrett Stidham, or Brian Hoyer this summer.

The Buccaneers cut Jordan Leggett.

Tampa Bay is trimming the roster, possibly in part to have fewer guys in the mix amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Buccaneers have a very deep tight end group, so Leggett might ultimately land in a better spot for his own value soon.

The Buccaneers signed Jordan Leggett to the practice squad.

Leggett does not need to be held in dynasty leagues at the moment, but the Clemson product could get an early leg up for a roster spot in Tampa Bay next season.

The Buccaneers promoted Jordan Leggett to the active roster.

This could indicate that O.J. Howard (hamstring) is not ready to return for Tampa, but the team had a roster spot and opted to bring up Leggett. The Clemson product is not a recommended fantasy pickup right now.

The Buccaneers have signed Jordan Leggett to the practice squad.

Leggett had a difficult path to making the team behind O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate, but he'll be in a good spot to continue developing with the Bucs. The former Clemson standout is still just entering his age-24 season.

The Buccaneers claimed Jordan Leggett off waivers.

Leggett was with new Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles in New York last season, so Tampa Bay has some insight on the 24-year-old tight end. That said, O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate are squarely atop the Bucs depth chart, so Leggett likely won't make a huge fantasy impact in 2019.

The Jets are waiving Jordan Leggett, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

The 2017 fifth-round pick was a draft pick of former Jets GM Mike Maccagnan, so this isn't a huge surprise; but the former Clemson tight end is only 24, and he'll likely draw a lot of interest around the league. He'll likely be claimed on waivers by one of the other 31 teams.

Jordan Leggett catches seven-yard pass in Week 17 loss.

It was his only reception of the game, though he was targeted four times. Leggett, who turns 24 next month, has talent but is unlikely to turn into a big-time fantasy contributor behind Chris Herndon next season.

Jordan Leggett catches one pass in Week 16.

Leggett gained nine yards on his lone reception against the Packers. Leggett is not a recommended fantasy option heading into Week 17 against the Patriots.

Jordan Leggett | Free Agent TE

Jordan Leggett catches eight-yard pass in loss to the Texans.

It came on his only target of the game. Leggett will try to make an impact over the final two weeks of the season, but he's not a fantasy option behind Chris Herndon.

Jordan Leggett catches one pass against the Bills.

Leggett gained 13 yards on his lone Week 14 reception. The Clemson product is not currently a recommended fantasy option.

Jordan Leggett | Free Agent TE

Jordan Leggett caught two passes for 18 yards in Sunday's loss to Tennessee.

Leggett actually ended up third on the team in receiving with Josh McCown throwing for just 128 yards, but no one is really worth strongly considering on New York's offense right now. Perhaps Sam Darnold (foot) can provide a boost if he returns next week, but Leggett isn't a recommended fantasy option.

Jordan Leggett catches two passes in Week 12.

Leggett gained 24 yards on his two receptions versus the Patriots. Leggett is not a fantasy option at the moment.

Jordan Leggett | Free Agent TE

Jordan Leggett catches one pass against the Bills.

Leggett gained six yards in his lone Week 10 reception. Chris Herndon is the top tight end for the Jets right now, so Leggett does not need to be owned in fantasy leagues.

Jordan Leggett | Free Agent TE

Jordan Leggett catches one pass in Jets' loss.

Leggett gained six yards on his lone reception versus the Dolphins. The Clemson product has upside, but his role isn't big enough to deliver fantasy value right now, and rookie Chris Herndon looks like the team's clear top option at tight end moving forward.

Jordan Leggett catches lone target in Week 5.

Leggett gained ten yards on his lone reception against the Broncos. None of the Jets pass-catchers are highly-recommended fantasy options at the moment.

Joran Leggett scores in Week 4.

Leggett caught a short touchdown from Sam Darnold for the Jets' only touchdown of the game against the Jaguars. Overall, Leggett had three receptions for 13 yards and the score. These were Leggett's first receptions of the season, and he's not a reliable fantasy option right now.

Jordan Leggett | Free Agent TE

Jordan Leggett doesn't catch a pass in Week 4.

Leggett nearly came down with a great catch on a sideline where Sam Darnold made a throw while avoiding pressure to his right, but he was out of bounds. The second-year tight end isn't a reliable fantasy option right now.

Jordan Leggett | Free Agent TE

Jordan Leggett caught two passes for 40 yards in the Jets' preseason loss.

Leggett was second on the team in receiving on Saturday night, and he could be a regular contributor for a team lacking offensive talent. Rookie tight ends usually struggle to put up good numbers, but we liked Leggett more than most people coming out of Clemson. Still, there are plenty of other tight ends you should target instead of him in 2017.

Jordan Leggett catches one pass in first preseason game.

The Jets rookie tight end had eight yards. With Austin Seferian-Jenkins suspended to open the year, Leggett should get a good amount of first-team snaps in the second and third preseason games.

Jordan Leggett | Free Agent TE

The Jets select Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett with the 150th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Leggett had eight touchdowns in 2015 and seven touchdowns in 2016 as a reliable target for Deshaun Watson. As a senior, Leggett caught 46 passes for 736 yards. He's a big target with good athleticism for his size. The Jets have a big need at tight end, and Leggett will have a chance to compete for the starting job. Josh McCown, the likely starter for the Jets, likes throwing to tight ends, so Leggett could have some fantasy value as a rookie.
