Kelvin Harmon | Free Agent WR

The Redskins have selected NC State wide receiver Kelvin Harmon in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

It’s surprising that Harmon, who is an intelligent possession receiver that can win with more of an on-the-ground game, lasted into the sixth round, but he lands in a good spot to make a Year 1 impact with the Redskins. While he doesn’t have elite speed or explosiveness, Harmon does an excellent job tracking the ball and has strong hands at six-foot-two. The Redskins likely won’t rely on big-time production from their new receiver, but we’ll see if he’s able to build a nice rapport with fellow rookie Dwayne Haskins in 2019 and beyond. Harmon could be a nice value in dynasty-league rookie drafts, as he could have a quick path to playing time for Washington.

Travis Homer | Bears RB

The Seahawks have selected Miami running back Travis Homer in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Homer was a solid runner for Miami the last two seasons, rushing for 966 and 985 yards before leaving for the NFL after his junior season. Look for Homer to contribute in a big way on special teams for Seattle, which might be his best path to make the roster as a rookie in 2019. Homer is not on the fantasy radar yet.

Marcus Green | Eagles WR

The Falcons have selected Louisiana-Monroe running back Marcus Green in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Green is a versatile player that runs the ball, catches the ball, and works as a returner. He was a receiver at Louisiana-Monroe, but Atlanta appears to want him at running back. He’ll compete for a role on the team this summer.

Trace McSorley | Commanders QB

The Ravens have selected Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

McSorley might be the most underrated player from this year’s draft class, as he’s the winningest quarterback in Penn State history and holds program records for passing yards (9,899) and passing touchdowns (77). McSorley was excellent in his sophomore and junior seasons with the Nittany Lions, leading the team to the Rose Bowl (and epic 52-49 loss to USC) and Fiesta Bowl (a win over Washington) while playing with future NFLers like Saquon Barkley, Chris Godwin, DaeSean Hamilton, and Mike Gesicki. Last season, McSorley battled injury and the team around him was not as good as the previous two years which probably led to a drop in his draft stock (along with his size at around six-foot). There’s been talk about McSorley playing safety, but he can make every throw and has shown he’s a winner, so we wouldn’t count him out working his way into a starting role like Dak Prescott did with the Cowboys a few years ago—though that’ll be tough to do if Lamar Jackson remains healthy and plays well. Long-term, McSorley could be one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league if and when the Ravens part ways with current backup Robert Griffin III. McSorley doesn’t need to be owned in fantasy leagues right now.

Dexter Williams | Free Agent RB

The Packers have selected Notre Dame running back Dexter Williams in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Williams probably slipped a bit due to some off-field concerns including an arrest and suspension, but this is a good landing spot for him, as new head coach Matt LaFleur will likely have a fairly open competition in the backfield. Aaron Jones will remain the favorite to lead things, but Williams is a well-balanced runner that should be on the radar for owners in both redraft and dynasty leagues.

Juwann Winfree | Free Agent WR

The Broncos have selected Colorado wide receiver Juwann Winfree in the sixth-round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Winfree didn’t get a ton of playing time in his college career, which started in 2014 with Maryland. He had 60 receptions for 807 yards and six touchdowns in his three college seasons. Versatility and contributions on special teams will help get Winfree on the Broncos roster as he looks to win a spot this summer. He’s not on the fantasy radar at the moment.

Ty Johnson | Bills RB

The Lions have selected Maryland running back Ty Johnson in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Johnson averaged 7.7 in his final season for the Terrapins, and his 4.40 speed shows he can bring some big-play upside behind Kerryon Johnson. As a rookie, though, Johnson is unlikely to have much of a role behind last year’s second-round pick and new addition C.J. Anderson, so he won’t be on the radar in redraft leagues.
