Join now >The Seahawks say Doug Baldwin is making “good progress” as he recovers from sports hernia surgery.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider didn’t give an in-depth update, but Carroll says he’s working hard in the building every day, but added “it’s a long haul.” There’s been talk of a potential retirement for the 30-year-old receiver because of all the injuries and surgeries he’s dealt with, but the fact that he’s been in the building indicates that he’s going to play in 2019. His effectiveness is another story, though, and we’ll see how he looks leading up to the season. Seattle will likely be looking at receivers in this week’s draft.

The Niners have selected South Carolina wide receiver Deebo Samuel with the No. 36 pick (second round) in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The second round was thought to be a sweet spot for Deebo, and that’s exactly where he goes with the Niners drafting him. Fans should enjoy Samuel’s game as a crisp route runner with great toughness and big hands for his size at five-foot-11. We think San Francisco is an especially good landing spot because Samuel probably fits best as a complimentary piece in an NFL passing attack that also includes George Kittle, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be able to put up big-time numbers for fantasy owners. For now, Samuel is best viewed as a mid-to-late round pick that could finish with solid numbers in the range of 800 yards and five scores as a rookie.

The Bills are signing T.J. Yeldon, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
It’s a two-year deal, according to Schefter. Yeldon figures to slide in as the third running back for Buffalo this season, with LeSean McCoy and Frank Gore holding the top two spots on the team’s depth chart. The versatility of Yeldon should help him get on the field a decent amount, particularly on third downs and passing situations; but he’ll likely have limited fantasy value as long as McCoy and Gore remain on the field. This is probably a better real football more than it is one with a fantasy impact, as the Bills have one of the deepest running back groups in the league in an offense that’s added a lot of pieces this offseason.

The Chiefs have banned Tyreek Hill from the team facility.
Chiefs GM Brian Veach made a statement at the conclusion of the first round of the draft, saying that the team was “deeply disturbed by what we heard” on the audio recording acquired by KCTV5. The team is going to acquire more information on the matter, but things do not look good for Hill—even if the Chiefs keep him on the roster (which seems unlikely), he’s facing a lengthy suspension from the NFL. We won’t be surprised if Hill is released by the end of the weekend.

Benjamin Watson is considering playing in 2019, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Watson was set to retire after last season, but he’s apparently having second thoughts. Schefter says the veteran tight end is currently focused on welcoming twins next week, but that “he may be open to coming back to the right situation.” Watson is one of the best locker-room presences in the league, so we’d think teams will be interested in brining him in. Ultimately, Watson doesn’t need to be picked up in dynasty leagues, as he isn’t likely to be a bonafide starter with a huge role as a receiver this season; but he’d be a welcome addition to a team in real life if he resumes his playing career.

The Patriots have selected Arizona State wide receiver N’Keal Harry with the No. 32 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
This is a bit of a surprise with A.J. Brown, Hakeem Butler, and D.K. Metcalf all still on the board, but Harry was confident he wouldn’t last past pick No. 33, and he goes one pick ahead of that mark at the last pick of the first round. New England lost monstrous red-zone target Rob Gronkowski to retirement this offseason, and Harry will help fill the void as Tom Brady and company look to put the ball into the end zone in 2019 and beyond. Harry is coming off seasons with lines of 82/1,142/8 and 73/1,088/9 in his sophomore and junior years at Arizona State, and he’ll have an immediate potential path to playing time in a thin wide receiver depth chart with the Patriots. Our full scouting report on Harry is located in the link below, but he’s in a great situation catching passes from Brady, so an immediate fantasy impact in 2019 is certainly a possibility.

The Dolphins coaching staff believes DeVante Parker can be a top-tier receiver.
Andy Cohen of MiamiDolphins.com writes that while it was a bit of a surprise the Dolphins retained Parker this offseason, the reasoning “was simple. Parker has the size, speed and raw talent to be a top-tier receiver in this league. This coaching staff believes they can get it out of him, assuming he maintains relatively good health.” Parker said that he feels like this new coaching staff gives him a “fresh start” after what’s been a relatively disappointing and injury-plagued start to his career after he was taken 14th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft. The Louisville product has shown some major flashes when he’s been healthy and on the field, and there’s certainly been a ton of hype about him leading up to previous seasons, so we’ll see if the 26-year-old can put it all together and enjoy a big season in 2019. Parker will be one of the more intriguing and high-upside options at the end of fantasy drafts this summer.
