Join now >The Chargers have signed Travis Benjamin to a one-year extension, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Benjamin is now signed through the 2020 season, and the team is reportedly giving him a $5.5 million signing bonus while reducing his 2019 salary from $5.25 million to $1 million to create cap space. This might indicate the Chargers expect Benjamin to play a larger role on offense with Tyrell Williams gone, but it’s worth noting Benjamin’s contributions as a punt returner, too. The speedy deep threat could have FLEX value in 2019 if he’s the clear third receiver and a starter along with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Hunter Henry says he feels like himself.
As the offseason program gets underway for the Chargers, Henry says he’s “pretty much full go” and that “everything feels good” with his knee. While Henry says his knee, which he injured last spring, feels sore every once in a while but that it’s just a “workout soreness.” Henry also added that it was good to get a game under his belt (when he made the amazing comeback to appear in last season’s Divisional Round game against the Patriots when mostly everyone thought he’d be out for the season after he suffered the torn ACL last offseason). Expect Henry to be involved in on-field work when Chargers OTAs begin next month, and there isn’t any concern about his status for 2019.

Seahawks sign Russell Wilson to four-year, $140 million contract.
Wilson and his agent gave Seattle a deadline to get a deal done before they would stop negotiating, and it paid off for the Super Bowl-winning quarterback, as he’s receiving the biggest deal in NFL history. The 30 year old is reportedly receiving a record $65 million guaranteed, and his $35 million per year breaks the record Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers set last season ($33.5 million per year). The rumors of Wilson wanting to play in New York have been proven baseless, and Seahawks fans can rejoice having their franchise quarterback locked up through the 2023 season. Obviously, the Seahawks expect Wilson to play at a very high level (as usual) moving forward, and fantasy owners should continue to expect QB1 production for at least the next few seasons.

The Vikings have signed Jordan Taylor.
Taylor—a six-foot-five receiver that was a member of the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 team—had shown flashes with Denver since entering the league, and he will come over to Minnesota with offensive advisor Gary Kubiak. At 27, Taylor shouldn’t be counted out from earning a role and making an impact behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, but he’s not currently on the redraft radar.

Carson Wentz says his goal is to be ready for the start of OTAs.
Wentz’s stress fracture in his back continues to progress, but he says it’s not fully healed yet, which isn’t a surprise. Philadelphia’s franchise quarterback would obviously love to be ready to go for OTAs so that he can get a full offseason in as he looks to have a bounce-back season, but both the team and player should want to take things slow to ensure he’s 100%, especially with the thought that a quick return from his knee injury might have caused his back issue. We’ll see if Wentz is out there for the start of OTAs next month.

Marcus Mariota put on weight this offseason.
This weight gain is about 5-10 pounds according to Mariota, and it was obviously by design. Titans head coach Mike Vrabel has suggested his quarterback to add more weight to be more durable, and Mariota agrees after missing more time last season because of injury, including the de-facto Week 17 playoff game versus the Colts. This comes a year after Mariota cut his weight in order to be as quick and fast as possible, with the thought being that he could evade hits with his athletic ability. Mariota’s fantasy value shouldn’t be impacted much by the added weight, as he will still be among the fastest quarterbacks in the league and can do plenty of damage with his legs. Hopefully Mariota can play in all 16 games (and potentially more if Tennessee makes the playoffs) in a contract year.

The Giants re-signed Russell Shepard.
Shepard had ten receptions for 188 yards and two touchdowns for the Giants last season, providing some big-play spark for Pat Shurmur’s offense. The 28-year-old is also a solid special-teams contributor, and he’ll ultimately likely be a better real-life asset for the Giants than he will be an asset for your fantasy team in 2019.
