On NFL Network, Palmer said that he believes Denver wants to scale back Lindsay’s workload to about the 150-carry range this season, hinting that it’d be in an effort to keep him healthy. Lindsay had 192 carries as an undrafted rookie, bursting onto the scene with 1,037 yards and a eye-popping 5.4 yards per carry, but he might be the second member of a backfield committee in 2019. The Broncos have 2018 third-round pick Royce Freeman ready to become a bigger contributor after he dealt with a high-ankle sprain as a rookie, and Palmer expects Freeman to lead the backfield with Lindsay’s role decreases. Right now, Lindsay is seen as a top 50 fantasy player for 2019, but that might change throughout the summer if it’s clear Freeman will be the top option in Denver’s backfield. However, keep in mind that Lindsay could simply outplay Freeman to the point where it’s difficult to keep him off the field no matter their potential plans as we sit in April.

NFL Network’s James Palmer believes Royce Freeman will be the lead runner for Denver in 2019.
Palmer, who spends a lot of time covering the Broncos for NFL Network, said he anticipates Freeman’s carries will increase this season while Phillip Lindsay’s workload decreases to around 150 carries. Last season, Freeman had 130 rushing attempts (for 521 yards at 4.0 yards per carry) in 14 games compared to Lindsay’s 192 attempts (for 1,037 yards at an exceptional 5.4 yards per carry in 15 games, but Freeman battled a high-ankle sprain that clearly limited his effectiveness. For a team that is going to want to run the ball, it sounds like Freeman might be in the 200-250-carry range this season, which could lead to strong RB2 value and potentially more fantasy value than Lindsay in their second campaign.

The Patriots have signed Austin Seferian-Jenkins, according to Field Yates.
This is probably the best possible landing spot for ASJ, as New England obviously has a huge hole at the position following Rob Gronkowski’s retirement. The 26-year-old only caught 11 passes for 90 yards and one touchdown in five games last year for the Jaguars, but if the team doesn’t draft a top-rated rookie option like Noah Fant later this month, Seferian-Jenkins will draw low-end TE1 consideration in fantasy drafts.

Jameis Winston says “the moon” is the limit for O.J. Howard.
With the Bucs offseason program underway under new head coach Bruce Arians, the team’s quarterback was asked about Howard: “The sky’s the limit really, not even the sky—probably the moon. Why limit him there? This guy, he’s incredible. He and [Cameron Brate] really compliment each other well.” Winston went on to say that Howard can learn a lot from Brate, and that those two tight ends can help the offense “go to the top.” He also added that “you can’t really stop O.J. from doing anything… I think he’s going to have a great season and Lord willing, he’s going to stay healthy and make it to the Pro Bowl like was before he got injured [last year].” And Bucs wide receiver Chris Godwin basically said the same exact thing, also calling the sky the limit for the third-year tight end. Howard was a legitimate TE1 before his high-ankle sprain last season, and—despite Arians typically focusing on getting the ball to his running backs and receivers—he should be a lock to be in the top ten at the position assuming health cooperates this season. Arians hasn’t had a talent like Howard at tight end.

The Jets have signed Brandon Silvers.
Silvers is the latest AAF player to sign with an NFL team, as he played for the Memphis Express and played well, throwing for 777 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in three starts in the AAF. As a four-year starter at Troy University, Silvers threw for 10,677 yards, 71 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions. He’ll look to put some good play on tape in the preseason and hopefully carve out a roster spot with the Jets behind franchise quarterback Sam Darnold.

The Lions signed Tom Savage.
The 2014 fourth-round pick spent last season with Cincinnati and San Francisco after spending his first four NFL seasons with the Texans. Savage has 13 games (nine starts) of experience, and he’ll look to compete with Connor Cook for the backup quarterback job behind Matthew Stafford in Detroit.

The Dolphins have signed Reece Horn.
Horn played for the Memphis Express in the AAF, and he will now get another NFL shot at 26 years old. The small-school product has good size at six-foot-three, so we’ll see if he can impress Miami’s new regime, which will be searching for diamonds in the rough.
