Elijah McGuire | Chiefs RB

Elijah McGuire handles 20 touches in loss to the Patriots.

McGuire rushed 18 times for 41 yards, also adding two receptions for 24 yards and a lost fumble. New England was dominant all afternoon, and McGuire didn’t have much running room. The second-year back—who started the season on injured reserve—finishes the year with 92 carries for 276 yards (3.0 YPC) and three touchdowns while adding a 19/193/1 receiving line. Hopefully a full offseason at 100% health will allow McGuire to reach his potential, but his 2019 role is very much up in the air depending on how a new coaching staff views him.

David Njoku | Browns TE

David Njoku caught three passes for 62 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens.

Njoku was targeted a healthy seven times as Baker Mayfield aired it out 42 times, and it would have been a bigger day if he could have held onto a jump ball in the end zone that was just jarred loose in tight coverage. The second season for the 2017 first-round pick ends with 56 receptions for 639 yards and four touchdowns, but the thing holding him back in 2019 and beyond will be Mayfield’s willingness to spread the ball around. Based on talent, Njoku will be one of the better mid-to-late round options at tight end.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling | Seahawks WR

Marquez Valdes-Scantling leads the Packers in Week 17 receiving.

Valdes-Scantling caught three passes for 43 yards against the Lions, though it didn’t help that Aaron Rodgers was forced to leave the game with a concussion. The rookie receiver’s season ends with 38 receptions for 581 yards and two touchdowns, as he showed a lot of promise and flashed his big-play ability throughout the year. The situation for Green Bay is interesting heading into 2019, as roles are likely up in the air including at receiver behind Davante Adams.

12/31/18 - 11:15 AM ET

James Develin | Retired FB

James Develin catches one pass in Week 17 win.

It went for two yards. Develin’s regular season ends with six carries for eight yards and four touchdowns with 12 catches for 61 yards through the air. New England’s fullback will lead the way for Sony Michel next month.

12/31/18 - 10:27 AM ET

Jacquizz Rodgers | Free Agent RB

Jacquizz Rodgers gets four touches against the Falcons.

Rodgers carried three times for three yards and caught one pass for two yards in the Bucs’ Week 17 loss. Rodgers had 33 carries for 106 yards and a touchdown along with 38 receptions for 304 yards this season. The 28-year-old is not a must-own in dynasty leagues heading into the offseason.

12/31/18 - 08:22 AM ET

Mike Williams | Chargers WR

Mike Williams scores against the Broncos.

Williams caught five passes for 65 yards and a touchdown along with one carry for -11 yards in the Charger’s regular season finale win. The score came in the red zone when Williams got open in the end zone. The second NFL regular season for the big receiver ends with 43 receptions for 664 yards and ten touchdowns along with seven carries for 28 yards and a touchdown, and it was great to see him play all 16 games after he battled a back issue as a rookie last year. Williams couldn’t get much going against the Ravens a couple weeks ago, but he’ll look to make big plays in Sunday’s playoff game against them.

12/31/18 - 12:29 PM ET

Sam Darnold | Seahawks QB

Sam Darnold, Jets fall to the Patriots in season finale, 38-3.

Darnold was 16/28 for 167 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding a 28-yard rush. The Jets struggled to get going through the air or on the ground in the loss, as Deontay Burnett (5/73) was the only player to go for more than 28 receiving yards. Still, Darnold showed flashes of really strong play all year, completing 57.7% of his passes for 2,865 yards and a 17:15 touchdown-interception ratio in 13 games. New York will hire a new head coach sometime in the coming weeks, but Darnold—who doesn’t turn 22 until June—will have plenty of upside as a late-round quarterback option in fantasy drafts next summer.
