Join now >Baker Mayfield (shoulder) is cleared to play and expected to start in Week 8, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Mayfield is dealing with significant injuries to his non-throwing shoulder (torn labrum and fracture), but he has full range of motion and will be back in the lineup for a huge matchup versus Pittsburgh. While there is concern about the accuracy still be impacted, Cleveland could throw more with their starter back, and they’ll hope to have Nick Chubb (calf) back, too.

Antonio Brown (ankle) will not play in Week 8.
This has been expected all week, as Brown did not practice and Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians indicated this is somewhat of a long-term thing. Brown will miss his second consecutive game, but hopefully he’s able to return in Week 10 following Tampa Bay’s bye week.

The Eagles are placing Miles Sanders (ankle) on injured reserve.
Sanders will now be forced to miss the next three games, but that’s all he’s expected to miss with his ankle injury. Expect Sanders to be back for a Week 11 matchup with the Saints. Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott, and perhaps Jordan Howard should handle the backfield work while Sanders is out.

The Texans are signing Jaylen Samuels to the practice squad, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Samuels could have a chance to get added to the active roster soon with Mark Ingram now in New Orleans, but it’s notable that both David Johnson and Rex Burkhead are very effective pass-catchers out of the backfield. Houston should still remain a committee the rest of the way.

Tevin Coleman (hamstring) is out for Week 8.
Coleman will miss his second game in a row, so the Jets will again lean on Michael Carter and Ty Johnson at running back. The Jets will enter the weekend undermanned on offense, and neither runner is a highly recommended play versus an underrated Cincinnati defense.

Kylin Hill (knee) is done for the season, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Hill was struck on a kickoff return last night, and the injury is unfortunately as bad as it looked, so the rookie’s year is done. In limited action behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon this season, Hill rushed ten times for 24 yards and caught a five-yard pass. Hopefully he can get back to 100% soon.

Robert Tonyan leaves game with apparent knee injury.
Tonyan just had a big 33-yard catch for the Packers, and he came up grabbing his knee. It was hard to see where Tonyan was injured but he walked off the field under his own power. It looks like Tonyan’s might might be over, and he had three receptions for 49 yards in the Week 8 Thursday night matchup against the Cardinals.
