Xavier Grimble catches one pass in Steelers’ loss.

Grimble got wide-open for a 23-yard reception against the Broncos, but he fumbled out of the end zone for a touchback right at the goal line after taking a big hit while attempting to cross the plane for six. Grimble is not a fantasy option as the No. 3 tight end for Pittsburgh.

Vance McDonald catches three passes in Week 12.

McDonald gained 27 yards on his three receptions against the Broncos. McDonald left the game briefly with a hip injury, but he was able to return; we expect he’ll be fine, but it’s something to keep an eye on. The big tight end is in the backend TE1 mix for Week 13 against the Chargers.

Travis Benjamin caught three passes for 47 yards in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals.

Benjamin saw extended playing time with Tyrell Williams (quad) active but a non-factor, and he was part of an insanely efficient day from Philip Rivers. The speedster will look to get behind Pittsburgh’s defense next Sunday night, but Benjamin won’t be a recommended fantasy option.

Jesse James catches four passes in Week 12.

James gained 35 yards on his four receptions (four targets) against the Broncos. James is not a recommended fantasy option at the moment, as he’s a better real-life contributor for the Steelers.

Keenan Allen leads Los Angeles in receiving as Philip Rivers has most efficient day of career.

Allen caught seven-of-seven targets for 72 yards and a touchdown, which came from four yards away on a highlight, toe-drag catch to start the second half of a 45-10 victory. Melvin Gordon (knee) will miss time with a knee injury, so Allen should be the focal point of the offense for at least the next two or three weeks, which could lead to some big-time production, including next Sunday night against the Steelers. Consider Rivers’ No. 1 receiver a midrange WR1 for Week 13.

JuJu Smith-Schuster explodes in Steelers’ loss to the Broncos.

Smith-Schuster was targeted 17 times against Denver, catching 13 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was a 97-yarder where he got deep and caught a perfect pass from Ben Roethlisberger before using his great underrated speed to race to the end zone. This was JuJu’s second career 97-yard touchdown reception (you might remember he had one last year on Sunday night against the Lions), and he is now the only player in NFL history with two 97-yard touchdown receptions—and he just turned 22 a few days ago. Smith-Schuster got open all afternoon and was the best skill position player on the field for Pittsburgh, and this was his sixth 100-yard receiving game of the season (twice as many as Antonio Brown). He’s already up over 1,000 yards with five games to go and has been one of the best receivers in the league this season. Keep him locked into Week 13 fantasy lineups despite a tough matchup with the Chargers.

Detrez Newsome rushed four times for 15 yards in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals.

Newsome hadn’t received a carry since Week 2, but he had a role in a blowout with Melvin Gordon (knee) leaving the game. The undrafted rookie should now operate as the No. 3 back behind Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson, but it’s unlikely to lead to fantasy value down the stretch.
