Phillip Dorsett catches two passes against the Jets.

Dorsett gained ten yards on his two receptions in the Patriots’ Week 12 win. Dorsett was targeted just two times in the game and continues to make plays when called upon, but his role isn’t big enough to deliver consistent fantasy value right now.

Chris Hogan catches two passes in Week 12.

Hogan gained 47 yards on his two receptions against the Jets, making catches of 27 yards and 20 yards. Hogan can put up big numbers if he gets enough looks, but he’s not currently a highly-recommended fantasy option as probably the No. 5 option in the passing game for New England.

Keon Hatcher caught one pass for eight yards in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens.

Hatcher was targeted twice, but he’s not a recommended fantasy option behind Jordy Nelson, Marcell Ateman, and Seth Roberts.

Rob Gronkowski scores in return to the lineup.

After missing nearly a month of action, Gronkowski returned after the Patriots’ Week 11 bye and caught three passes (on seven targets) for 56 yards and a touchdown. The score was a 34-yarder deep down the middle of the field, where Gronk made a great diving catch in tight coverage in the end zone. The All-Pro tight end also appeared to be open on another pass to the end zone, but Tom Brady couldn’t quite put it on the money for him. Overall, Gronkowski appeared back to form, which is great to see; he has the look of a major difference-maker down the stretch, so hopefully you remained patient with him despite what’s been a disappointing season to this point.

Marcell Ateman caught three passes for 16 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens.

Ateman saw a healthy ten targets, suggesting the seventh-round pick could be a big factor down the stretch for the 2-9 Raiders. The matchup was tough in Week 12, but the Chiefs present a much better opponent next week, and Ateman is worth considering in all leagues as a big-bodied target with some craftiness that was likely overlooked earlier this year.

Josh Gordon catches all five targets in Week 12.

Gordon gained 70 yards on his five receptions against the Jets, including a long reception of 23 yards. This was a solid showing as Tom Brady looked to spread the ball around after perhaps locking onto Gordon too much in recent weeks. Next Sunday, Gordon might avoid a matchup with Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes (hamstring), which would be a boost to his outlook.

Jared Cook scores in Week 12 loss.

Cook caught two passes for 32 yards, with the highlight coming on a 16-yard touchdown grab on which he gracefully kept the ball off the ground using one hand as he fell into the end zone. The veteran saw five targets, but hopefully that number increases next week as the Chiefs come to town. Consider Cook a quality TE1.
