Funchess led the team with 11 targets, and the highlight was an 18-yard score to bring the Panthers within three points in a 21-17 victory, as he put a double move on cornerback Ronald Darby to get wide open in the end zone. The Michigan product has now scored in three of the past four games, and he’s yet to be held below 41 yards this season. The matchup is difficult next week against Baltimore, but Funchess has earned weekly low-end WR2/FLEX consideration as Carolina’s clear No. 1 receiver.

Curtis Samuel scores in 21-17 victory over the Eagles.
Samuel rushed twice for nine yards and a score, also adding a 16-yard reception. The second-year receiver was able to get Carolina on the board with a 14-yard touchdown that started a 21-0 run, and his ability as a playmaker was on display as he weaved through Philadelphia defenders. The usage for Samuel will likely remain inconsistent, so he won’t be a recommended fantasy option in redraft leagues when the Ravens come to come next Sunday.

Christian McCaffrey handles 13 touches in win over the Eagles.
McCaffrey rushed seven times for 29 yards and caught six-of-six targets for 51 yards. Fantasy owners will take the 80 total yards on a day that Carolina did almost nothing until the final five minutes of the game, but it’s fair to wonder if they would have had more success if they stuck with the rushing attack early on and featured McCaffrey more as a receiver. Nonetheless, it was a huge victory for the Panthers, and they’ll return home for a tough matchup with the Ravens. McCaffrey remains an RB1, but he will probably need to produce through the air against a stingy front.

Jarius Wright picks up chunk yardage in win over the Eagles.
Wright caught two passes for 37 yards, also adding a 34-yard rush. Carolina has plenty of weapons behind Devin Funchess at wideout, but Wright, D.J. Moore, and Curtis Samuel all cancel each other out too much for the veteran to be worth considering in fantasy lineups. He’ll try to make an impact against the Ravens next Sunday.
10/22/18 - 09:22 AM ET
Cam Newton, Panthers score 21-0 unanswered points in shocking win over the Eagles.
Newton was was 25/39 for 269 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding a team-high 49 rushing yards on seven attempts. Carolina had done basically nothing until the fourth quarter, but down 17-6 with less than five minutes to play, they scored twice to pickup a huge victory in Philadelphia. Cam’s first touchdown came on an 18-yard pass to a wide-open Devin Funchess, and then he connected with Greg Olsen on a play-action pass from one yard out for the game-winning score. The key to the comeback was Newton finally taking advantage of soft underneath coverage, and he should look to do the same next week against a tough Baltimore defense. Consider the former NFL MVP a solid QB1 for that matchup.

Jason Croom catches one pass in Bills’ loss.
Croom gained eight yards on his lone reception against the Colts. He’s not a recommended fantasy option at the moment.
10/22/18 - 09:11 AM ET
Andre Holmes catches one pass in Week 7.
Holmes gained 13 yards on his lone reception agianst the Colts. Holmes is more of a real-life contributor for Buffalo than he is a fantasy option right now.
