Join now >The Bears are releasing Tarik Cohen with an injury designation, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Cohen is still unable to pass a physical from his 2020 knee injury, but his goal is to be ready for the 2021 season. Turning 27 in the summer, Cohen will have a better chance of regaining his pre-injury value if he’s able to get cleared before training camp—though we’ll see if a team is willing to take a chance on him before getting back to 100%. Chicago doesn’t have a need at running back with Khalil Herbert set to form a strong one-two punch with David Montgomery.

Sterling Shepard has agreed to a restructured contract.
Shepard was a cut candidate coming off a torn Achilles, but the franchise will stick with him and likely values his intangibles in addition to the on-field production. Also, the former Oklahoma standout will get a chance to continue rehabbing with the team that drafted him, and wide receiver isn’t a massive need if the offense gets more out of Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney in 2022.

The Bills re-signed Jake Kumerow.
Ahead of free agency, Kumerow is back with Buffalo on a one-year deal. Kumerow will serve as strong depth at receiver for the Bills, but we’ll see if he can work his way into a bigger role.

The Ravens have tendered Tyler Huntley.
Huntley looked good while filling in for Lamar Jackson for much of the latter part of last season, so this is not surprising. Huntley is a tremendous backup option for Jackson given the similar playing styles. Teams still might be interested in Huntley as a restricted free agent, but we’ll see what happens.

Carson Wentz is being traded to the Commanders.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Washington is sending the Colts a package that included two third-round picks. Clearly, the Colts were not happy with Wentz at quarterback, so they are trading him away for much less than they acquired him for last offseason—with the catch being that the Commanders will take on Wentz’s full contract, which Indy obviously sees as a win. The quarterback musical chairs continues, with the Colts now having a wide-open spot at the position. For Wentz, he’ll be back in the NFC East and will face an Eagles team he forced his way out of twice per season. The 2022 NFL offseason continues to be extremely intriguing, with the new league year and free agency not even kicking off until next week.

The Chiefs have re-signed Josh Gordon.
Gordon will now have a full offseason to further implement himself into the Kansas City offense, and he could have a shot at legitimate fantasy value depending on what other moves are made at the position. For now, consider him a hopeful stash in dynasty leagues.

The Broncos are releasing DaeSean Hamilton.
Hamilton is coming off a torn ACL last spring and was set to be traded to the 49ers, so he’s set to draw a lot of interest on the open market (including likely from San Francisco). The former fourth-round pick out of Penn State is an intriguing versatile potential addition to a receiving corps.
