Join now >The Eagles placed Mike Wallace (leg) on injured reserve.
This is a corresponding move with the team signing wide receiver Jordan Matthews. Wallace suffered a broken leg in Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers, so he was going to be out for several weeks. There’s a chance the Eagles bring Wallace back as a designated-to-return player, but his season might be over. Wallace does not need to be held onto in fantasy leagues.

The Eagles are signing Jordan Matthews, according to Jordan Schultz.
Just as Carson Wentz returns from his knee injury, he gets one of his favorite targets from his rookie season added back to the receiving group. Last summer, the Eagles traded Matthews to make room for a big role for Nelson Agholor, but now he’s back after a season in Buffalo and a summer in New England. Matthews was cut by the Patriots after a hamstring injury, but Schultz says he’s ready to go for Week 3 against the Colts. Matthews being added to the receiving corps might put a slight ding in the values of Agholor and Zach Ertz if Wentz looks Matthews’ way often, and it’ll be interesting to see if he’s used only in the slot. We certainly think Agholor can move to a primarily outside receiver and excel there if that’s what the Eagles want to do.

Zach Ertz catches 11 passes in Week 2 loss.
Ertz turned the team-high receptions into a team-high 94 yards, but he didn’t find the end zone in a 27-21 defeat. The star tight end will be a top-three option next week against the Colts whether it’s Nick Foles or Carson Wentz under center, but the latter could need to knock off some rust early on.

The Colts released Phillip Walker from the practice squad.
The former Temple quarterback spent last season and the start of this season on Indy’s practice squad, but he’s being released to make room for running back Jeremy McNichols. Walker should receive interested, and the Colts might be interested in bringing him back at some point.

Nelson Agholor plays great in homecoming, but Eagles fall to Bucs, 27-21.
Agholor caught eight passes for 88 yards and a score, which came on a great catch and throw in the fourth quarter from two yards out. The former Tampa high school star also added a two-yard rush, but his strong effort wasn’t enough to get a win with Philly’s defense allowing Ryan Fitzpatrick to throw for 400+ yards and four touchdowns. Whether it’s Carson Wentz or Nick Foles under center in Week 3, Agholor should be considered a WR2 option against the Colts.

The Colts signed Jeremy McNichols to the practice squad.
McNichols was cut by the Niners earlier this month. He’ll look to stick around on Indy’s practice squad before working his way up to the 53-man roster. McNichols is off the fantasy radar.

Jay Ajayi handles eight touches, finds the end zone in Week 2 loss.
Ajayi, who was apparently set for a featured role against the Bucs, left in the first half with a back injury, but he returned in the second half and finished with seven carries for 23 yards and a score. He also caught a four-yard pass. Ajayi should get an easier matchup against the Colts next Sunday, but he might have missed his opportunity to be a workhorse after Corey Clement impressed on 11 touches in Week 2. Consider the Boise State product a low-end RB2 option.
