Join now >The Raiders have moved Johnny Holton to cornerback.
Holton was just re-signed to Oakland’s practice squad, and they’re moving him to cornerback in part because the receiving corps is so crowded. Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson says Holton is “just a good football player,” and head coach Jon Gruden probably feels the same way. Holton has a ton of speed, so it’ll be hard for him to get beat deep at corner. Holton is also a very good special teams player, so he could find himself back on the 53-man roster soon. Holton had 218 yards and three touchdowns on just nine receptions last season, and it’s possible he still eventually works in as a situational deep threat on offense despite the position change.

Doug Martin gets six touches in Raiders debut.
Martin worked behind starter Marshawn Lynch, who scored on the opening drive of the game, running well when he was given opportunities. Martin had four carries for 20 rushing yards and two receptions for -3 receiving yards in the loss to the Rams. The former All-Pro will be a good contributor for the Raiders this season, but he’s difficult to trust in fantasy lineups at the moment.

Devonta Freeman (knee) will not practice today.
Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said Freeman isn’t practicing today and that they’ll take a look to see where he’s at tomorrow. Freeman is almost certainly headed for a questionable tag as the best-case scenario, and there’s a very real chance he’s unable to play this Sunday against the Panthers. Reports said that Freeman was fine, but it’s not a good sign that he hasn’t been able to get in even a limited practice the last two days. We’ll update you with Freeman’s official game status when it is released tomorrow.

Seth Roberts catches one pass in Raiders’ loss.
Roberts had a key first down on a quick flat route type of screen in the first half, which he gained 11 yards on. That was Roberts’ lone reception of the game, as he didn’t seem to get a ton of playing time as the No. 3 receiver for Oakland.

Aaron Rodgers (knee) will work with the rehab group again today.
The same might happen tomorrow before Rodgers is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Vikings. While the expectation is that Rodgers will play, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy isn’t ready to say for that for certain yet. The Packers play in the early 1:00 PM ET games, so Rodgers’ status will be known ahead of the Sunday slate.

Derek Carr struggles in first game under Jon Gruden.
Carr had a very good start against the Rams, going 20/24 for nearly 200 yards in the first half—but he threw a late first-half interception on an underthrown deep ball to tight and Jared Cook in the end zone. In the second half, Carr struggled and might not have been seeing the field well. The second interception was on a weird play in which Carr kind of just lofted the ball to the left for an easy interception; and the final interception was a game-sealing pick-six by Marcus Peters, who undercut a short route. Overall, Carr was 27/38 for 288 yards and three interceptions. He showed good command of the offense, especially in the first half, but he obviously needs to play better moving forward, and should. Carr faces the Broncos in Week 2.

Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is not practicing today.
This makes it two straight missed practices for Fournette, who will reportedly test the hamstring out tomorrow. The second-year running back is probably headed for a questionable designation when the official injury report for the game is released tomorrow. Fournette might just need to test his hamstring in warmups on Sunday, but keep in mind the Jaguars play in the late-afternoon slate if you’re between him and someone in tonight’s game for your fantasy lineup.
