Anderson rushed seven times for 35 yards, which was close to Christian McCaffrey’s workload as a runner (ten carries for 50 yards). The veteran barely played with the first-team offense in preseason action, so it was a bit of a surprise to see him so involved on Sunday. We’ll see how much work Anderson gets next Sunday in a key divisional matchup with the Falcons, but he is still probably off the FLEX radar in standard-sized leagues.

Christian McCaffrey rushed ten times for 50 yards in Sunday’s win over the Cowboys.
McCaffrey also led the team with six receptions for 45 and lost a fumble. Overall, it was a disappointing game for fantasy owners with C.J. Anderson (seven carries for 35 yards) getting more work than expected and Cam Newton and fullback Alex Armah both scoring inside the five, but McCaffrey showed impressive power as a between-the-tackles runner that moved forward on contact. He will hopefully be in the 20-25 touch range in a potential high-scoring affair with Atlanta next Sunday.

Cam Newton does damage as a runner in Week 1 victory over the Cowboys.
Newton completed 17/26 passes for 161 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding team-highs in carries (13) and yards (58), including a four-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Cam ran early and often in the 16-8 win, as Norv Turner’s offense used a some designed runs to let him take advantage of his unique skillset. As always, Newton will carry unmatched upside in next week’s matchup with the Falcons. Consider him a solid QB1.

Terrance Williams catches one pass in Week 1 loss to the Panthers.
It went for six yards. Williams isn’t a recommended fantasy option for next week’s matchup with the Giants on Sunday Night Football.
9/10/18 - 01:22 PM ET
Michael Gallup catches one pass in NFL debut.
It went for nine yards. Gallup was targeted three other times in the game, and all three resulted in first downs due to defensive penalties committed by the Panthers. Dallas’ third-round pick doesn’t need to be owned in 10-team leagues, but if someone eventually emerges this year in the receiving corps, it will probably be him. The Cowboys take on the Giants next Sunday night.
9/10/18 - 01:21 PM ET
Emmanuel Sanders has huge Week 1 in Broncos’ win.
Sanders had an excellent game to open the season against Seattle, catching 10-of-11 targets for 135 yards and one touchdown, with the score coming on a 43-yard catch and run on a deep in-breaking route that Sanders took to the opposite sideline and to the end zone. There was talk of Sanders being motivated after the team added rookie receivers Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton in the draft, and he looked as good as ever to start the year. Consider Sanders a solid FLEX option for Week 2 against the Raiders.
9/10/18 - 01:07 PM ET
Geoff Swaim works as top tight end in Week 1 loss.
Swaim caught three passes for 18 yards, including a long of 11 yards. Even on an offense that badly needs playmakers, the 24-year-old is off the fantasy radar.
