It was a light practice for Indy, but it’s not a great sign that the second-year back wasn’t out there. Multiple reporters are expecting Mack to miss Week 1 with rookie Jordan Wilkins getting the start, but we’ll get more insight on Mack’s status throughout the week and when the official injury report comes out on Friday.

Greg Little did not make Arizona’s 53-man roster.
It was a great story and comeback for Little, who hadn’t played in a regular season game since 2014 but impressed and made a strong push for a roster spot. Hopefully we’ll see Little draw interest around the league after his release.

The Broncos are listing Royce Freeman as their starting running back, according to Ryan O’Halloran of the Denver Post.
The official depth chart is due out later today, and the third-round rookie will open the season in the top spot. Denver has maintained that they would be using a committee approach in the backfield, but Freeman is a good bet to handle the bulk of the carries after an impressive preseason. Third-year back Devontae Booker is going to take some snaps, particularly on third downs and passing situations, but Freeman is clearly the back to own in fantasy leagues to start the year.

The Cardinals have released wide receiver Brice Butler.
Signed to compete for the No. 2 receiver role, it’s surprising the former Cowboy didn’t even make the 53-man roster. J.J. Nelson, Chad Williams, and rookie Christian Kirk are the top receivers along with Larry Fitzgerald. Butler will likely receive interest from other teams quickly.

The Raiders are waiving Johnny Holton.
Holton initially made the 53-man roster for Oakland, but unfortunately the acquisition of veteran receiver Brandon Lafell led to Holton being released. Holton contributes on special teams and should be able to find another team quickly.

Jerick McKinnon suffered a torn ACL, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The injury suffered by McKinnon in practice was thought to be serious, and unfortunately it is indeed a season-ending injury. McKinnon reportedly suffered the injury on a non-contact cut against the air, which just unluckily happens sometimes. Now, the Niners will go with a backfield led by Matt Breida and Alfred Morris. The recent signing of the veteran Morris, who has a ton of experience in Kyle Shanahan’s system, is huge, and the Niners are lucky he was available for so long. San Francisco expected McKinnon to be a huge part of the offense this season after signing him to a big contract that pays him top-five running back money.

The Raiders are signing Brandon Lafell, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Granted a release by the Bengals during training camp, Lafell remained patient and lands in a good spot in Oakland with the Raiders. With no Martavis Bryant in the mix, Lafell will have a chance to compete for solid playing time behind Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson. Lafell is not a recommended pickup in standard-sized leagues at the moment, but he’s someone to keep an eye on.
