Join now >Anthony Miller “has performed exceptionally well in training camp.”
Larry Mayer of ChicagoBears.com says the second-round rookie receiver from Memphis “has shown excellent ball skills, hands and route-running ability,” as well as excellent ability with the ball in his hands. All the talk surrounding Miller has been positive, which isn’t surprising after how productive he was during his college career. We thought he was a first-round prospect, and he has the potential to be a big difference-maker for the Bears as a rookie. It’ll be interesting to see how much time he gets with the starters in tonight’s preseason game and moving forward this summer.

Demaryius Thomas drastically changed his diet this offseason.
NFL Network’s James Palmer spoke to Thomas and wrote a piece on his discussion which can be read in the link below. Thomas’ hip issues are well-documented, and he said that after the season he was thinking about when he’d retire; but he found a book on the relationship between inflammation and diet, which led to a big change in his lifestyle—and he’s feeling the positive results. This sounds a lot like what Tom Brady does with the TB12 Method, and the better diet has led to less inflammation, and less problems with his hip. Thomas, who is entering his ninth NFL season, now says he’s thinking his career could go “15 or 16” years despite thoughts of retiring soon earlier in the offseason. DT originally dropped his weight from 228 to 212 after he changed his diet, but he got it back up to a comfortable playing weight and still feels energized and light—and he apparently looks that way, too. The best news is that his hip is feeling a lot better, and it should show in his play this season after he admitted he had trouble moving with it, particularly in the last two seasons. After missing 1,000 yards for the first time since 2011 last season, Thomas is looking like a good bet to hit the mark in 2018.

Virgil Green and Philip Rivers are “finding their groove.”
Rivers said the connection with his starting tight end “is growing,” and Green says he thinks it’s “going great.” Green was used primarily as a blocker in his seven seasons with the Broncos, catching 71 passes for 807 yards and four touchdowns (one in each of the last four seasons), but he’s presumably going to have a much larger role as a receiver with the Chargers. There’s been talk of Antonio Gates potentially returning to the team, but the future Hall of Famer remains unsigned. With Hunter Henry (knee) out for the year, Green has TE1 upside if he’s the clear top tight end for Rivers.

Donte Moncrief is listed as a third-string receiver on the Jaguars’ first unofficial depth chart.
Keelan Cole, Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook, and D.J. Chark Jr. are all listed ahead of Moncrief. This is unofficial, and the coaches might not even have had any impact and might not care about it, but it’s worth noting. Moncrief was paid to step into a sizable role in 2018, but Jacksonville has one of the deepest wide receiver groups in the league. We’ll have to watch how snaps shake out in preseason games.

Antonio Brown (hip) returned to practice.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that Brown will not play this Thursday against Philadelphia, which is not surprising. AB is not a full participant yet, but he should put this hip issue behind him quickly.

Darren Waller has been re-instated by the NFL.
Waller was suspended last June by the NFL for another violation of the league’s substance abuse policy, so this could be his final chance to stay clean and attempt to have a productive NFL career. The tight end room has changed for Baltimore since last year, with rookies Hayden Hurst and Mark Andrews both added to the mix. Waller isn’t currently on the fantasy radar.

Antonio Callaway was cited for marijuana possession on Sunday morning, according to Tony Grossi.
So, just hours before the team traded Corey Coleman to the Bills, their new presumed starter along with Josh Gordon and Jarvis Landry could find himself facing a suspension to begin his career. Callaway was a Day 1 or Day 2 talent based on his on-field talent, but this shows why we thought it was a surprise that he was drafted as high as the fourth round by Cleveland earlier this year. Perhaps we will get an inside look at the situation on Hard Knocks tonight or next week, but Cleveland’s loaded receiving group is suddenly very thin with Coleman in Buffalo and Josh Gordon still away from the team. Even a short suspension could knock Callaway off the radar in 10-team fantasy drafts.
